I’m sure there are times when we feel that we are pretty good, and I expect that it is necessary to keep us moving. But are we really as smart as we sometimes think we are? If we consider Savants how they are brilliant in one specific area and dull in the others, it testifies of a higher plane Not that intelligence would save us but the realization thereof may cause in us some humility and in humility we might be able to receive God’s Word, without pulling it through our ‘high intelligence’ filter.

We say ‘I believe the Word’ then why do we not see it fully manifested in our lives? If we fully believed the Word then there would be no need in us staying here, nothing holding us back.

As was once said ‘the greatest thing we can pray for is revelation. For only by revelation can He be more than life to us.

A true sign of growth in the Christian is that ‘grace’ becomes increasingly precious and needful.
One of Luther’s last words was ‘we are but beggars’. How true.
