In the Bleak Midwinter.

Glad you like that song, Prim. An unusual song for Christmas but sung well with lovely music.
Marilyn there be a tradition in Asia that one of the Emperors used to visit every province in his kingdom and evaluate the well being of each individual province from the music they played and sang. I’m sure he would be much happy with the Harmony your music brings forth. ✅

I also recognized Alistair Begg's voice right away. I have a high regard for him except for the time I called his church about 15 years ago because I needed to speak with him. The Church receptionist said she would take my message but could not guarantee he would call me back.

His ministry is so busy and didn't call me back. I took it personal for years getting over it. Then one time I listened to Pastor Begg's interview on Christian radio and he was sharing how he loves to play a lot of golf! lol!

Anyway, moving on to the song. Those were beautiful lyrics and harmony in In The Bleak Midwinter.

Thank you for sharing, Marilyn.

Merry Christmas!

I recognized Alistair Begg's voice RIGHT AWAY.... One of my top three favourite pastors. LOVE this man.

Hi Prim,

That sounds very interesting, the music reflecting the people`s hearts. And happy you love that music also. Looking forward to sharing more together.

Marilyn.

Hi bob,

Now I see that you and In Awe of Him, both thought the speaker was Alistair Begg, (didn`t know him), however, the video was done by Keith and Kristyn Getty. Keith did the intro and his wife the song.

Perhaps the voice sounded similar as being Scottish. Actually, my mother came from Glasgow as I noticed Alistair Begg did too. I will listen to some of his sermons since you all say he is good.

Marilyn.

Also bob, I would like to say how much I appreciate your fatherly care, encouragement and guidance here for all of us.

This fatherly oversight is very rare on forums.

Blessings, Marilyn.

Marilyn.

Good morning, Marilyn;

Just a thought.

Another viewer on YouTube mentioned how they loved hearing Alistair Begg in the intro. This Christmas song was live by Keith and Kristyn Getty and it would have been a venue in Scotland.

It's very possible Reverend Begg could have been in attendance. He is Scottish from Glasgow but has been the lead pastor at Parkside Church, Cleveland, OH for 41 years. This is very impressive for any minister who serves in the Church.

Still, it could have been someone else's voice who sounded like Begg.

The bigger picture is I enjoyed the song and it blessed me.

God bless you, Marilyn.

Merry Christmas!

Hi bob,

I had never heard of Alistair Begg but have now been listening to him. I can see why you think the voice at the beginning of the video is his. And you have probably never heard Keith Getty talk. So, I`ll post him speaking. Then I`ll leave it up to each to decide which person is speaking, (not that it matters). However, I do like to listen to people`s accents and these two men do have similar voices.

Alistair`s accent is Scottish while Keith`s is Irish. Interesting.

Hello Marilyn;

Wow. I tried to make the comparison and in the first video it still sounds so much like Alistair. lol! That's on me.

The Good News is both are men of God.
Praise Him!

Thank you, Marilyn.
Yes, bob, the voice in the video was deeper than Keith did on the tape, so I can appreciate you thinking that is Alistair. Also, you have heard his voice quite a lot.

I on the other hand, (& no matter) think that Keith would have done the intro to his wife`s singing.

And as you say both are men of God. praise Him. Marilyn.

Oh I just looked up `Who spoke the introduction to the Getty`s song, `In the Bleak Midwinter.`

And it said `Keith Getty is the singer who spoke the introduction to the Getty`s version of `In the Bleak Midwinter.`

`In the Bleak Midwinter is a poem by Christina Rossetti that is often performed as a Christmas carol. The poem was written in 1872 and describes the circumstances of Jesus` birth in Bethlehem.
