INFO: For June 01 to June 05, 2007

We are following the progress of two significant systems today. The first one is moving slowly across the southern and central plains states and is producing heavy rains, high winds, hail and tornadoes from Texas through the Dakotas, Minnesota and Wisconsin for today into Saturday and from Arkansas through Michigan and the Ohio Valley for Saturday into Monday.
The other system, as Acral mentioned in the Tropical Systems area, is in the central Gulf of Mexico as a strong low pressure area. This weather system will provide much needed rain for most of Florida and southern Georgia today through Monday. This storm could possibly reach Tropical Depression or Tropical Storm levels, but that possibility is fairly low at this hour. If the storm does become a named storm, it will be tracked in the Tropical Storms advisory area.
As always, we recommend that you have a NOAA Weather Alert Radio in your home and know how to use it properly to receive advisories, watches and warning broadcasts for your area.
