This week we are repeating a traditional yearly message from the Chapel:

On this date in 1862, on the banks of the Rappahannock River in Virginia, a Union soldier named William faced a Confederate soldier named Andrew across a shallow river narrows. Rather than taking up their muskets and firing at each other, these two men stopped, looked at each other, waved and struck up a cordial conversation. William was out of tobacco and Andrew was out of coffee and the resulting meeting between enemies to share these items with each other on Christmas Eve 156 years ago can give us all hope that mankind in general can cast aside our differences and live in peace with everyone.

Please join with me in thanking Our Heavenly Father in prayer for the unselfish sharing of His only begotten Son with all of mankind so that we may find peace, contentment and love. May God Bless.
