It’s not all ‘happy clappy’

A fallen soldier
It’s not all ‘happy clappy’

An urban saint without an army
Lost in a barren land,
The sounds of yesterdays battles echos
Trudging through a tear scared land,
Casualty of life’s battle
Used to be main stream,
Fighting the good fight
Flying high…
Full of the Holy Spirit,
A right good blessing
Walking the straight and narrow way !

But,

feet got weary
Hole in the sole (soul)…
Shoes wore out,
Put my sword of faith down to empty my hands
To take salvations helmet off my head
Messed up my hair, got too sweaty,
Shield of faith took a right bashing, tarnished dented,
Forgot to tighten my belt of truth. Took my eye off the ball my
pants fell down,
Fell flat on my face!

Yet still singing with the saints in glory
Struggling to rekindle a sparkle of faith,
feeling bruised used up battle weary
Can’t fight this one alone!
Can’t fight this battle except in the heavenlies
“I’ll stand in His strength
Lest the world overwhelms me,
‘TIL every foe is vanquished
And Christ, is Lord indeed”
