Jews views on Jesus

common theme appeared throughout many of the responses in that most Israelis acknowledge Jesus’ Jewish heritage, but believe (as a result of Christian history) that he broke away from Judaism to start a new religion.
A number of respondents expounded on this theme, noting that because, in their view, the religion of Jesus (Christianity) teaches that the Torah commandments are no longer valid, it is not an acceptable faith for Jews.

The reality is that the vast majority of Jews are no more familiar with Christianity than the average Churchgoer is familiar with Buddhism....

They have been taught by their teachers and sages that Christianity is "Different" and "Foreign" and that Jesus was a false prophet... and thus - even being curious about it is forbidden by the Torah....
