Know the Enemy

As we observe the continual slide down into atheism and humanism of Western culture, which foundationally defines the phenomenon of "As in the days of Noah...," We need to have a very clear grasp of the enemy.

Now, that enemy is not the people who lay claim to being atheists and/or humanists, but rather the "powers and principalities of the air" who are manipulating and controlling those people. The people themselves are precious souls.

So, how do we effectively combat those powers and principalities?

Prayer is the first and foremost weapon of our warfare...prayer in faith that the Lord HEARS our prayers, and is responsive beyond our ability to even imagine when the center of that prayer in faith is upholding yet another precious soul of God's creation.

Secondly...KNOWLEDGE!

Watch this and learn in the spirit of becoming equipped...even several times over and over if necessary. This is good stuff for your benefit:

My dear brother MM. You are asking a profund question.

When Jesus was asked by Pilot what Truth was, He had already answered the question, “What is truth?” before Pilate asked it— "I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth; everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice" (John 18:37).

When you listen to Jesus, you hear the truth. He is the voice of truth. However, people, humanity only want enough truth in order to "survive"!.

For example, the world looks flat. It looks like the sun rises in the sky and is a relatively small object. Our eyes and our brains deceive us though. The Earth, as well as other planets, are roughly spherical in shape. A million Earths could fit inside the Sun, and it is 93,000,000 miles away from us.

But such "truths" were totally unnecessary for our ancestors to survive and reproduce. Likewise, our ancestors didn't need quantum physics to survive, just basic Newtonian physics. For instance, they needed to understand that falling off of a cliff would be bad. They didn't need to understand that Schrödinger's Cat could be simultaneously alive and dead in a quantum universe. Rather, they just needed to know if the cat could hurt them...or was edible.

So what is the goal in humanities perception ---SURVIVAL, not truth.

Since survival is the goal, erring on the side of misperception or self-deception was sometimes beneficial because it increased our likelihood to survive. For instance, while foraging for food, we might misperceive a long, thin vine to be a snake because it would be safer to err on the side of caution. If we jump back to evade it, and it turns out to be nothing, we live another day. But if we make the mistake of not jumping back, and it is a venomous snake, we could be dead.

In 1970 cartoonist Walt Kelly famously paraphrased the statement as "We have met the enemy, and he is us"
 
Folks, this is SOOOOO true a rendition of how the sin nature works in unison with our flesh to draw us away from the Lord and His direction!

 
Wow! Dawkins ADMITS he lied in his book The God Delusion! Not much of a revelation, but it still is at least interesting!
