Loooooooooooooooooooooong Prayers?

We've been getting some real good topics lately for discussion. You're asking a great question for those who may wonder for 'em or 'gainst 'em.
Long or short prayers is very much a private time between the believer and our God. Both are fine.
Years ago I knew a late woman of God who confessed in our study that there were times she didn't know what to say to God. So her prayers were short for those moments.
I personally spend quality time in the morning and evening but I don't keep time. When I've loved, confessed, lamented, argued, listened, etc...with God from my heart is when I end my prayer.
The only time my loooooooooooooooooooooong prayers were 'gainst 'em is when my wife, friends and I are out to lunch or dinner and I'm asked to pray for the meal. They're afraid the food may get cold and everyone is hungry. lol!

My grandmother would pray so long in blessing the meal that the turkey would get up and walk away.
I'm sorry Bob for not making myself clear. I meant public prayers as in the end of a sermon. Sorry.

Personally not a fan of long prayer but Im a very direct person and often grow impatient with long-windedness in general. I recognize that I need to work on patience and check my pride too. Especially in prayer, a person is taking time to express themselves to the Lord and it isn't always a brief occasion and who am I to rush someone along.
And now that the holidays are upon us... as sweet as it is to go around the table and state what we are thankful for... let's eat and share our thanks between bites
In public prayer my prayers should not be long. In most public or corporate worship settings I attempt to know the people gathered so it helps me pray for them.

As a young boy, after the 1st time it happened I begged my dad to not let Grandma bless the food any more......I didnt want to fall asleep!
its how the person likes to pray i know a guy who prays and preaches while he does it.. i dont feel it has to long if praying with some one. usually few minutes . but i do know a preacher who prays like he preaches . when i pray for the sick i usually ask the Lord to be merciful to them
