Love...our greatest asset

Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].......

Love never fails! Never becomes obsolete. And is the biggest asset that any of us have. Even our faith does not work without it (Galatians 5:6). And it takes faith to abide by it, or consistently put it into action.

The reason why Walking in or by love takes faith is because walking in total love the way the Father walks in love is opposite of what our natural, flesh, and the world's ways are. One has to go against the grain...or be like a fish swimming upstream against the current.

Our minds need to be renewed every day to what the ways of love are. For you see our minds were not born again and changed supernaturally, that was only our spirits. However it is our job to daily remind ourselves (Romans 12:2) as to what Love really is. Our minds are naturally selfish and without our renewing them to the Word of God, have a natural bent towards whatever makes us happy or at peace with not a whole lot of consideration for others needs or desires.

When we make the choice to walk by faith in God's ways of love that He poured out into our hearts when we were first born again (Romans 5:5), we make the choice to go against the ways of the world. And when we choose God's ways over our natural ways then it puts God to action on our behalf. As long as we walk in God's ways of love God will make sure we are successful. For His desire is that we succeed in every area of our lives. He will see to it that no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Walking in love will also make sure your feelings are not hurt because your not governed or ruled by your fellings, but by love.

Walking in agape love has tremendous power. It surrounds a person like an impenetrable shield. One that makes you the master and the one in control of every situation.

One could say "how can I be in total control of a situation just by walking in love"? It easy, because no matter what others do, it does not affect you. And eventually because your walking by faith and in God's ways, the situations change, and the people's attitudes change, because each seed produces after its own. And when you refuse to sow the seed of strife or contention or any of the world's ways...then because greater is the power of the one we serve than the power of the one in the world, the love that is sown will rule or win out and overflow into others. For love is the light of the world and no darkness can ever put out that light.

Walking in love takes perservance and it takes truly making up ones mind to do it no matter what the enemy throws our way. For the enemy's greatest desire is to get us to stumble and make us to submit to his will instead of the Father's.

So can you afford to walk in the ways of the enemy? Can you prosper by walking in the ways of the world? If you think so, what will you gain?

Always remember that the wages of sin is death. And when we choose to walk in the ways of the enemy we are in sin. Plain and simple. Now Jesus conquered all the power of the enemy with His death on the cross (Colossians 2:15). So the only power that sin has over you is the power you give it.

Walking in the world's ways is something we have to resist. This is how we suffer for what Jesus died and shed his blood to save us from. And when you think resisting the enemy and his ways is too hard.....think of the resisting that Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane. The drops of blood that He sweat, in agony resisting His own emotions and feelings and thoughts in temptation to not submit His flesh to the Father's will, the purpose to why He was born. (Luke 22:41-44 & Hebrews 12:2-4).

May the Lord Bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you! May He grant you favor and give you peace.
