Matthew 20;30 says we wont marry in heaven but be like angels.

So In what way do you think we all will be like angels in heaven?

There are many angels described in the bible and they are all men, or strange creatures with 4 wings and lots of eyes,...but maybe it doesn't mean we will all have mens bodies or have wings and lots of eyes. Angels are messengers, as in Hebrews 1;14 14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Isn't that wonderful news! imagine that? we will be like ministering spirits.

So does that mean there will still be people on earth that needs saving and we who are already saved will be communicating with them in some way?

Glory to God I'm blown.

Yes, and Amen, it is mind blowing. Something I have pondered.......with this in mind, there are all these planets in the universe. I think God has plans for them and we will be involved in some way. Sorry, I should have told you to wrap your head with duct tape first.

Via yes the angels in the Bible are always mentioned as male often seen as ministering spirits or messengers of Gods blessings or judgements. Even Christ used the angels as the future example of what marriage would look like in eternity when confronted with a trick question by the Sadducees on who would belong to whom after the resurrection Matthew 22:23-30 Christ replied that there be no marriage or giving of marriage in eternity but we would be like the angels . IMG_4094.jpeg I have a few questions myself. Firstly Angels were all male . As woman are we to lose the entirety of our femininity ? And take on masculine qualities? Or was it that the Angels couldn’t reproduce amongst themselves because they were all males. But seems they could reproduce with humanity depending of course of one’s interpretation of the sons of God in Genesis 6 IMG_4094.jpeg. Perhaps and it’s only a perhaps that the explanation could be that there will be no need for the reproduction of children with the allotted number of Gods people being fulfilled in the mind of God. I guess the next question that be upon all our minds does this annul us from the wonderful experiences of sexual union ? Perhaps there will be no need for marriage in eternity between Gods people because we will all be unified in perfect love and perfection. And there be no frailties of fallen human nature in jealousy or hatred to deny us the good pleasure of sexual union again. because we all be one in perfection and love and married in Christ.

As a man and woman become one flesh, I would think we will be complete as "one flesh" in our new bodies. The connection in love with God and His saints will be greater than any experience here.

Moose I’m sure that the wonders that await us in heaven are mind blowing as mentioned In Corinthians, eye has not seen nor ear comprehended the riches of glory that await us there. Yes as man and woman upon this earth we become one flesh and that is a deeply emotional, physically and spiritually moving lifetime experience . I’m sure as you say that the connection of experiencing Gods love in eternity more fully will be unsurpassed. But at the same there be good reason why we receive a resurrection body. A body of absolute perfection and splendour in the world to come. And that is not only to be looked upon and admired but also to be fully experienced and used fully to the upmost union of pleasure and love as well . God did gift to humanity the joys of sex I see no reason why that would change in the world to come.

I like all your answers.
And whoever wrote the Book of Hebrews already had known/experienced angels so he must have already have been in heaven at some point, or, the angels came down from heaven to visit him? because he was so very sure of himself having met them. Because to ask "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" in such a way to his audience suggests they too already knew who the angels were and their nature.

I take it Paul wrote Hebrews, to converted jews?

Edit; clarification.

Via very true.Me always throws a pauper a fiver for a coffee as you never know it might be an angel in disguise. I like the thought of angelic protection IMG_9063.jpeg. As to the Apostle Paul being the author of the Book of the Hebrews I have no problem with that. But some do. It was a given matter in a number of ancient writings that people just knew who the author was and did not always place the author’s name on the manuscript or the book. A little hindsight for future generations might have helped : )

I think we are viewing this too literal. Jesus was referring to marriage when he said we would be like the angels, they are not married. Since it is a sin to have sex outside of marriage, it is safe to say that sex will not be a part of the heaven experience. It is a wonderful gift from God to us here on earth, but it was given so that humans would continue on the earth until His appointed time. I don't think women will be changed into men as the bible tells us we will know even as we are known, Peter, James and John knew Moses and Elijah as soon as they saw them at the transfiguration of Jesus. How would we know our moms and sisters if they were changed into men? Jesus said we would rule and reign with Him. Remember that the angels are ministering spirits to man.

I recon that we have to think about how times were when that part of the Bible was wrote, in this here case.

Male dominance was the normal back in them days, so when them angels were wrote about, 'most' authors used the masculine description. There's an exception in Zechariah 5:9 (KJV), 9 "Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven."

They ain't described in the chapter as angels, but they surely fit the description, so it's just something to think about.
