MERRY CHRISTMAS

Today is Christmas day. It is not happy holiday's or Here comes Santa. It is the day that the Catholic Church set aside to honor the INCARNATION of God's Son-
JESUS the CHRIST, the Messiah of humanity.

Jesus was not born on December 25. That is the date of a pagan festival of the sun god Tammuz merged with Christianity under Constantine.
However, the evidence is overwhelming that Jesus was born during the Feast of Tabernacles.

It is certain that Jesus was not born in December, because shepherds do not keep watch over their sheep outdoors this late in the season. Luke testifies that during the time of Jesus’ birth, there were shepherds with their sheep out in the fields.

Luke 2:8-20 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.

In Bethlehem during the winter, temperatures often fall below freezing. Shepherd’s did not attend to their flocks at night in winter because it was too cold. Once the frost set in, shepherds would bring their flocks into pens at night.

Just for those serious people who diligently seach the Scriptures for truth, allow me to give you a Christmas gift which is.............
  • Jesus was born on September 29, 3 B.C.
  • Adding 30 years, we come to the Fall of 28 A.D.; the first Passover during Jesus’ ministry is April, 29 A.D.
  • Adding 3 1/2 years or four Passovers, we come to 32 A.D., when Jesus was crucified on Passover, April 14, 32 A.D.
There is a really wonderful web site at.....(https://robertcliftonrobinson.com/2019/08/19/the-correct-date-for-jesus-birth/) if anyone is interested in follow up!

Now I say all of that for one reason........The actual day is not of any importance. The only thing that matters is the FACT that Jesus was INCARNATED into this world through the virgin Mary for the purpose of dying to pay the penalty God demanded for the sins of humanity. He did that but have All of you reading this accepted HIM by faith that you might be saved from the judgment??????

Major - Thank you so much for mentioning the true birth date, as detailed in The Book Of Luke nativity chapters. Luke was a trained physician and wrote in very exacting and technical wording and the time lines that he wrote of are completely verifiable historically.

Blessings to everyone and a Very Merry Christmas.

With a little study we can find out that People, over the years have put forward various reasons for the choice of December 25 for the birth of Jesus. The three most popular that I have seen are...........

1) December 25 exactly is nine months after March 25, which the historian Sextus Julius Africanus and the early church father Tertullian calculated to be the date of the Passover on which Jesus was conceived. That is found in his work of Tertullian’s Adversus Judaeos, Ch. VIII). This reckoning was based on the tradition that Jesus was conceived and died on the same calendar day. There is of course No Bible fats to that idea.

2) According to another tradition, March 25 was the anniversary of the creation of the world. Anyone ever heard that one before????Jesus’ conception on that date would lead to His birth on December 25.

3) The one which I have heard more about was December 25 coincided with a pagan festival celebrating the winter solstice. The church thereby offered people a Christian alternative to the pagan festivities and eventually reinterpreted many of their symbols and actions in ways acceptable to Christian faith and practice.
