Mountains Shake, Earth Removed...oh My!

The following song spoke of an historical event ("doubtless during Sennacherib's siege for no other period of Israel's history suits it" - E.W. Bullinger) But all historical, literal, events speak of future spiritual events!

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

We should see this song spiritually....

Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

The earth be removed (should be moved, not removed), the mountains carried into the sea, the waters roaring, the mountains shaking and swelling. Gosh...it sounds frightening! Looking at it spiritually, what is seen:

Earth speaks of mankind. Men are either of the earth, the sea or heaven. The sea is a place of wicked masses of mankind. Those of the earth are righteous people but not yet saved for they are in the valley of the shadow of death. Heaven is where the saved abide...all while walking under the sun!

The earth, righteous people will be moved/shaken:

This is what we are taught in [Ez.37] where there is a great shaking and the dry bones in the valley are brought to life...if they hear the word of the Lord. The earth is moved.

The mountains carried into the sea:

Biblical mountains are symbolic of nations. Nations today are in the sea, filled with ungodly masses of humanity.

The waters roaring:
Biblical waters can be seen in more than one way....there are the living waters of God, there is foul water/deception, from Satan and there are waters that represent.....

Revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

All of the above events were mentioned by Christ when asked about the last days:

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Should we fear? No, for God is our refuge and strength. While the turmoil goes on about us we have Peace for we are the city of God, we are the tabernacles in whom He dwells, we drink of the river of living waters....as shown in the rest of the story:

Psalm 46:4-5 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
