My father shouted at me

Today I confessed my dad that I'm a firm follower of Christ and also didn't took the puja blessings by saying "I won't take " , I believe in Christ only . My dad told that "from childhood to till all is due to presence of hindu god's, and now you're condemning , ignoring them" . Today dad literally shouted at me but I stood firm in Christ and told that" I've found my faith in Christ from inner I got that feeling . " He further told that I'm breaking the family's legacy of following Hinduism and turning into Christ . " My dad is forcing to take part in pujas but I ignored and don't know what will happen . But after all I still held firm believe in Christ . Share your views and what to do in this case .

Good morning, subh_0hr;

Sola gratia
gives an important first thought. Please continue to love and honor your parents reference Exodus 20:12 in your Bible. Don't return anger with anger to anyone for your faith.

You'll be going through the tough stages of standing firm in your new faith in Christ. Two extreme examples of not worshiping other gods is in Daniel 3 regarding Hananiah (Shadrach,) Mishael (Meshach,) Azariah (Abednego) and Daniel (Belteshazzar) in Daniel 6.

You're in our prayers, brother, as well as your parents.

God bless you, subh, and thank you for opening up to your new friends in Christ.

Bob

Hi subh_0hr
I will be praying for you everyday, and for your family.

Keep on praying, prayer is very powerful. You are standing firm, that is very brave and good. Keep calm and respectful, while staying steadfast. God will guide you, please ask him to, and he will be next to you.
God Bless you greatly.

Hi subh_0hr,

You are faced with a difficult situation, for on the one hand your are instructed to obey your parents yet on the other are to worship no one but God. I don't envy you in this regard but with prayer and God's grace you will navigate these waters.

Here is a verse from Colossians 3 that may give you comfort. I have highlighted verses 20 and 21.

Your family is in my prayers.

Jason

Rules for Christian Households

18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. 20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. 22 Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters,[f] not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25 For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality. (Colossians 3:18-25 ESV).
