Our Little Place

I went to Topsail Island yesterday for a beautiful beach day. The water was almost a Caribbean blue again, but we had waves.
Lots of big, but rough tide and waves for me to wish to fight. The sand had dark sediment underneath it this time, which are heavy minerals.
The sand here sticks to everything, and had lots of ground up shells. I found many small rocks to gather, but not many shells.
Its different every time I go. Yesterday even a four something foot shark got caught on a fisherman's line.
It looked like a gray nurse shark common in this area. Swimmers helped it get back into the water, because it was heavy.
I caught a suntan, and a great day with family and friends. It was definitely a Sun-day, blessed by our Father with the ocean :)

How was everyone else's weekend or Sunday?

That sounds like a beautiful day, thenami. The ocean has a way of reminding us how good and mighty our Father is.

My weekend and today have been a real blessing too. My wife’s job, which she has had for over 21 years, is being moved overseas, and they are letting her go. Her last day is June 23rd. But today she got a call about a job she had applied for, one she really wanted, and they offered it to her. She accepted it. God is good.

On top of that, my doctor told me I do not have to wear compression socks anymore if I do not want to, and that made my day. I have had blood clots in my leg twice in the past 4 years, but everything is looking good now.

So yes, we have a lot to be thankful for. “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” ~Psalm 103:2.

Hello everyone;

This afternoon while my wife and I were reading Psalm 36-40 our niece sat with us and listened. She's only 9 years old but it was the first time we noticed how attentive she was while we read. She does believe in Jesus and asked very, very basic questions about the Psalms.

She's learned how much God loves us and at one point she was getting teary eyed. At that moment my wife looked at me to stay a step back so our niece wouldn't get overwhelmed. As we all know when young children have those moments it's not fake, it's genuine.

She had a good school year and graduated to 4th grade. She's always happy and we encouraged her to have fun this summer.

Psalm 127:3, 3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. - NIV

God bless you all.

Cute :) I imagine survival back then didnt leave much room for recreational activities.
I did some searching, and they did not have a lot. But they did hunt, fish and exercise for war.
One line I did find that was interesting:
"Many religious Jews did not like pagan-style games like gladiator shows."

So no Golf. Just a lot of Power walking.

But I am giggling. You in the US have a big Gladiator show coming up." :)

We have a thing called the "Highland Games". It is very Scottish. Men in kilts throw telephone poles and big stones. It is a lot of fun.
And lots and I mean lots of bagpipes.

Our Island is called 'Cape Breton Island' for a reason.
We have the coolest name of our 3 islands. There is Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.

Sounds like a whole lot of good, clean fun! Im sure the food vendors at such events serve amazing local treats,
or everyone brings incredible home-made things to share :) I would enjoy attending such festivities.
Sounds like real men having a real battle of strength, and wits. I have visions of old castles, and a strong sense of culture.
That is something I admire very much. Keeping cultural identities alive for future generations helps preserve history.
Here in the U.S. we are such a melting pot, and a young nation. Its a blur as to what is actually American sometimes.
When I see the American picture as a whole, I view it as borrowed, morphed, and compounded ideas creating our identity.
Everything already came from someplace else. In my opinion, only do the Native American Indian Nations have originality here.
Maybe that is what is truly American after all.

Hey everyone;

I attended a diabetic health class this morning at the hospital. I really didn't want to go but felt it is for my own good. The class was indeed informative and helpful. It made me realize information regarding nutrition, carbohydrates and protein, etc...can change so there are some adjustments I need to make.

Like my "once a quarter" snack binge of an apple fritter and two regular donuts. lol!

The American aborigenes came from Siberia when the frozen Bering Strait became a land bridge, so even their cultures brought borrowed elements to North America. We don't really know anything about the original Americans' cultures and peoples.

I can only imagine the Native American Nations to be descendants of these original cultures.
Therefore, in my heart I consider their traditions to be an example of what we consider to be American.

Please pray for my good sister in Christ, Linda. She is in the hospital and they cant find what is wrong with her.
She passed out while getting her hair done, and was unresponsive. Its been four days of testing, and she is still passing out.
Linda is 78.

I am off work because of breathing problems. It is an old lung disease that flares up once and while. but I am off for a few weeks.
I made a list of things I want to get done.
Good morning, CranberryArtworks;

Take it slow for the next weeks and I'm praying your breathing improves soon.
🙏

I have a question for you, Nelson. Where did you get the name Cranberry? I already figured Artworks because you're an artist.

God bless
you, brother.
