Outrageous Grace

This song seems fitting for a time such as this.

There is NOT one of us who is GOOD. NOT ONE. We are all in need of OUTRAGEOUS GRACE. Often times we do NOT receive this from other humans.... but GOD will ALWAYS forgive us our sins. HE will always show us MERCY... and will ALWAYS lavish us with HIS OUTRAGEOUS GRACE.

My favourite ministry has been the street ministry... working with the drug addicts and prostitutes... the homeless... the alcoholics.. and the mentally ill. It was scary at times... but it was so needed. I don't do that ministry any more because I moved back to my home town and I now live far away from the downtown core... which is where they basically congregate.

Our world is DARK.....and people are HUNGRY for HOPE.

Anyways.... this is what is on my heart this morning.... reflecting on His OUTRAGEOUS GRACE!

Almost, if not everyday, I at least briefly reflect on the grace He showed me a year or so back. I was the worst of sinners; I went to church all my life, heard the gospel preached, and yet refused. I must have listened to thousands of sermons, and my heart was stirred so many times. Yet, I hardened my heart to the point where it wasn't stirred anymore. Not for a long time. Possibly the last time it could have been stirred was the one that counted; when I felt His grace, and it was "inexpressible" (1 Pet 1:8).

Good stuff.

For many years, my church and I visited two jails and for sure, it was a challenging experience.

I wish that I had the ability to explain the Grace od God, but alas, I do not.

God could have killed Adam & Eve right then for their disobedience. But rather than destroy them, He chose to make a way for them to be right with Him. That pattern of grace continued throughout the Old Testament when God instituted blood sacrifices as a means to atone for sinful men. It was not the physical blood of those sacrifices, per se, that cleansed sinners; it was the grace of God that forgave those who trusted in Him. Sinful men showed their faith by offering the sacrifices that God required.
