Poem#1 Take Captive “long version”

Finished the short version earlier, this is the long version, free to use either one.

Poem#1 Take Captive

2nd Corinthians 10:5, 2nd Timothy 1:7

Learning every day to take thoughts captive that don’t belong

Thoughts that pull us down instead of lifting up the Holy Name

We’re not given a spirit of fear, but of a sound mind to use

Taking whatever thoughts that don’t belong that are twisted

Taking them to the Cross to die with Jesus washing us clean

The Cross still stands even while living in victory with Jesus

Taking every thought captive bringing them to the Cross

Word games of the Devil ends at the Cross of Jesus Christ

We’ve been raised Forgiven as the Cross killed Our Sin Forever

When we’re born again created as a New Creation we’re God’s

Every Sin we thought, every sin we didn’t understand is gone

When we’ve accepted Jesus & His forgiveness for our Sins

The Holy Spirit when we listen teaches to take thoughts captive

Through helping us to learn all things Truth of the Word of God

Reminding us every day to deliver our Sins to the Cross Daily

We’re not given a spirit of fear, but of a sound mind with power

Power of the cross of Jesus where we take every captive thought

The Blood of Jesus washes every sin until white as snow

Good morning, Walker;

After reading Poem#1 Take Captive “long version” I find it ironic the last 3 years that "thoughts captive" have not been so much in our living community but more so out of state and country.

My wife and I have many talks after reading the Bible together daily. 2025 has been a year of spiritual growth and maturity;

We both have had our share of "thoughts captive" that have no answers, therefore, by taking them to the cross, "Word games of the Devil ends at the Cross of Jesus Christ"

It works!

Then by asking the Lord to guard our hearts and tongues gives her and me peace. Of course we have the challenges of life but we're managing them with peace and this goes a long way.

God bless
you, Kyle, and thank you for sharing.

Bob

Thanks Bob, glad I was asked to write it, only hesitated long enough to ask the Lord if it was okay to take a break from sabbatical to do this request? Felt the Lord say it was ok, then back on Sabbatical until the Lord says it’s time. I’ve been writing for a few years straight after normally taking a writing break after each book.
So plan is to rest, listen to the Word more and when the Lord says it’s time get back where I left off in Exodus as I continue writing about each book of the Bible through the guidance of the Holy Spirit with the goal of helping others to hear God’s Word when reading the scriptures to hopefully opening up spiritual eyes to see the Word is Jesus Alive who talks to us daily through one new word revealing every time we read, or in my case Listen!
