Poem#12 First Drum

Poem#12 First Drum

Exodus 17

If only the People would shout praises instead of complaining

So much more can be accomplished when not getting on Moses

But they had to find out what happens when the Rock cries out

When the People struck a nerve in Moses to satisfy their thirst

The Lord answered giving Moses the first drum solo with his stick

So Moses tapped the Rock & Water came out for more than drink

The Rock can be so much more when not stumbling over corners

The Lord that gives life will be stumbling block to those that reject

Christ will be the Cornerstone that builders rejected long ago

Cooler heads will prevail even with Humor to keep things Light

Followed with gratitude & Praise Obedience is better than sacrifice

Don’t let doubt guide instead of the Cloud by Day Fire by Night

People should learn its better with the Lord on their side in battle

Who will provide the strength even when we’re tired in Obedience

Like with Moses in holding up his Arms tired from playing the drums

When stuck with stubborn people that wrather test than please God

Learn the sense of Humor God has to apply to the seriousness of Joy

Praise to the Lord so the Rocks don’t cry out in our Place shout for Joy

Hey Walker;

Poem#12 First Drum
has a good beat and sense of rhythm as I was reading.

This is a good metaphor even in these times in our daily walk with Jesus. When we really stop and reflect, there isn't anyone throwing stones at our dwelling place, therefore, we should refrain with less grumbling and more praise to Him.

God bless you, Kyle.

Hey Bob,
I often don’t write while thinking about adding humor to poems, even while writing this one was debating on how it will be received, while also thinking 40 years is a long time dealing with so many negative people constantly complaining about something while I think it was done on purpose to test God on what they could get.
Still if you don’t make light of frustrations it will Rob your joy, and God’s clear on how to get Joy through the Psalms mostly written by David on the Run.
Praising God brings Joy and its the Lord who’s our Joy. Also Truly believe it includes learning to laugh even in the worst, certainly annoying times.
Poem is a reminder of this
