Poem#120 Look Past Christmas

Poem#120 Look Past Christmas

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John

Before we know it another December 25th will come for what?

Will we be caught up in the busyness of Christmas without Joy

Another words get so busy we forget to slow down to enjoy

Hopefully most of us know Jesus wasn’t born December 25th

And most of us realize the date isn’t important long as we Love

And we think of the way God came to be born to Love Us

Still so many people putting up decorations not thinking of Christ

Instead letting pride get in the way of best Christmas show & tell

When could be showing the way to God’s house in you & me

This time of year, show people it’s not about the lights or Christmas trees

Definitely not about someone from the north pole, not about getting gifts

It’s about the giving heart of Jesus living inside giving hearts of others

When Family from all over come together to celebrate Love born to us

Let’s remember to slow down & pray for those with less family this year

As Our Prayers will help Prodigal’s find the Family that unites us as One

Hopefully will remember to be less selfish in finding the latest big sales

And be more selfless in leading others to look past Christmas to Jesus

No better gift then Watching someone Opening up their heart for Jesus

Before another December 25th passes by, remember to slow down

Look past Christmas to Jesus & welcome the Lost beinging lost no more

Celebrate with the Angels in celebrating the Family of God coming home

Theirs no greater Joy then when God came to be born among us as told

Walking with us in the cool of the day like we should’ve long ago in Eden

Jesus was looking past Christmas on the Cross when we’d be All Home

Hello Walker;

I have seen video shorts and heard conversations of the commercialism of Christmas versus the Reason for the Season.

As a kid Christmas always included the Birth of our Savior. In these times it is different for me today. My wife and I are older, we see things in a different light. Our faith acknowledges and worship more the True meaning of the Lord's Birthday.

I don't really get caught up with the commercialism. There's no joy. They don't mention Jesus.

I understand the concept of December 24th and 25th, yet, it's still a time my family will attend Christmas Eve service, prayer and singing, then the next morning we will enjoy giving and watching the kids open their presents and partake in a meal.

For my family, Church, closest ones and community, I want to take this celebration and encourage others any way I can going forward.

God bless you, Kyle.
