Poem#120 Looking To Being Treasure

In Memory of a Friend of mine who’s Service was today and the poem is based on the scripture read

Poem#120 Looking To Being Treasure

Matthew 13:44-50

We’re working so hard for a dream that’s never been our dream at all

Why because we’re working on the impossible with no hope to achieve

Only the few that lose their way will find what their looking for

Looking up at the stars at night thinking intentions into wrong solutions

Trying to find the one thing money cannot buy, but only destroy in trying

When we should have been looking inside to find what’s missing

Story of the tower of Babbel trying to reach beyond the stars to Heaven

Hitting close to home, definitely not a story of fiction as we’re still trying

When Jesus was born to show an easier Way to Find Him

Everyone celebrates getting gifts to treasure every December 25th

Only a few sell everything they have after opening the Greatest gift

After working so hard in getting bonuses to spend on hopeless dreams

Treasure we seek, the Dream of hope walked among us 2000 years ago

Yet only a few sold their fields, traded in their nets for the only Son of God

Will we ever understand Heaven’s only a heartbeat away in Jesus

Nothing we have on earth is worth comparing, no dream can be found

Not until we lose ourselves to Jesus who says I’ve found you, your mine

Few understand we’re the Ones Lost & Jesus gave everything to find us

Thankfully Bob and Esther were among the few to understand this Truth

Jesus came down from His Throne to die upon a Cross to save their Souls

The Treasure Jesus saves gets placed in the Heaven inside Our Hearts

We couldn’t have found Jesus to buy our way, to earn our way to Heaven

Not when we’re the Ones being Lost, the Ones being found to bring Home

The Father is the Same Jesus, He finds Us to Rejoice All of Heaven in Us

Hello Walker;

I'm remembering your friend's family from yesterday's service in my prayers.

Poem#120 Looking To Being Treasure reminded me these last weeks of many past mistakes, sin and regrets that I made in life and was on my mind. It went in circles with no answers of what I could have done differently.

Instead of focusing on the
treasures that behold us.

This negative thinking wasn't doing me any good so I went into deeper prayer and laid my troubled heart at the Lord's feet. After expressing my disappointments to Him,
I sat in silence. This silence is something I learned a long time ago from God. He listens and responds.

God allows us free will to make decisions that may result in mistakes, sin, some mild, some extreme and some stupid. But once we come to our senses, we learn from them so we can ask for wisdom and discernment going forward regarding life's decisions.

The whole time God is always with us to protect us even during times of folly. We should never forget God is there when we repent and He responds by forgiving and redeeming us.

It's like reading a good book, poem, or listening to a song, it can make us think. The same approach should be after we pray to Him.
Have a moment of silence with the Lord.

I got over my bout of negative self-consciousness and going forward there are new things happening in my wife's life, my life and our life together. This time I'm careful to be reminded of past mistakes so I don't repeat them.

What I share are
treasures that I tend to overlook and have to be reminded. God is amazing because He doesn't take the treasures away. They are always there to allow us to see more as we strive to grow in Christ daily.

Thank you for sharing,
Kyle.

God bless you and your family this Christmas.

Thanks so much Bob, I can’t remember much past being Saved at 5 beyond the fact I wanted Jesus, can’t remember the day let alone the date and where I was, but wouldn’t be surprised if the Pastor’s wife Esther of the small town, small church was the reason, being best friends with the Pastor’s Son Jon who‘s a Minister himself when not doing elevators for a living, doesn’t get paid to Pastor, but does so sometimes. Jon spoke on the Parables of Matthew 13 that I wrote about, though as always the Holy Spirit took me deeper into the message.

God bless you and your family this Christmas also.
