Poem#128 Another Midnight

Poem#128 Another Midnight

Matthew 25, Mark 13, Luke 12

Another Midnight has come & Gone another New Year surpasses

While the fireworks were going off was anybody watching inside

For like a Thief He will come whether we’re sleeping or outside

The house we’re to be watching gets left unguarded, no alarm set

So worried about the world narrative, signs being left for repenting

When we’re forgetting about our own house & the Thief’s inside

Don’t let another influence be the reason we’re losing faith

Because we’re no longer hearing God’s Word therefore deaf

From disobedience in not doing what God’s calling us to do

If we’re going to celebrate let’s do so for Jesus & for God’s People

Before another midnight has come & gone with the rooster crowing

Be doing what Jesus called & then celebrate the Joy in Jesus

New Year’s bash is nothing unless we’re wide awake for Christ

Letting our Light shine from underneath our Basket for His glow

Don’t let the devil have all the good music be heard

Let those that have an ear let him hear what Christ is saying inside

Making sure the house is in order, bringing everything to His Light

Playing the Lord’s Music that sings of His Glory even as we sleep

Another midnight’s coming & if Christ hasn’t come yet be watching

Be focused on the Good News that is Jesus & let everything we do

Reflect the Gospel so when He comes we’re focused on Loving People
