Poem#91 Joy & Happiness

Poem#91 Joy & Happiness

Psalms, Philippians, 2nd Corinthians

One of these days the life we’ve been living though it’s hard

Truth to happiness will find us & circumstances won’t matter

Circumstances never mattered when it comes to the Lord

Happiness is a choice we’re privileged to make everyday

The storms we face come & go, the Grace of God remains

The Lord’s still watching over us as Our Shepherd

One day we’re going to get to Heaven Our Potter will tell us

The Lord’s going to show how He developed our Character

Circumstances being the clay, storms being the water used

The Lord is working on each & every One of Our Hearts daily

He sees Our brokenness & uses another’s brokenness to heal

The Lord wants us to be Witnesses to help mend one another

When living life long enough will find reading Psalms hits different

Might not be on the run like David or maybe will be running harder

Learning to Praise the Lord in a Storm Trusting to stay under Refuge

Don’t be afraid the Lord is Our strength Be Still & know He’s God

The Lord’s constantly reminding us that He’s Jesus & always will

That He went on the Hill to take all our Troubles to the Cross

The Lord is Our Shepherd that bled & died for His Sheep to Live

Like the dying Seed that sowed to plant many seeds in our Hearts

Jesus is the Risen Joy, Jesus has always been the missing Joy

One of these days will finally understand circumstances lived

Nothing to do with happiness, when it’s all about having Grace

That Jesus is the Grace giving us Joy & reason to be Happy

Hello Walker;

I'm paraphrasing Christians who ask me the question, "Why do sinners enjoy excitement in the flesh while Christians remain in prudency, long suffering, seemingly lacking happiness in Christ?"

Your poem says to me that happiness is temporary while joy is rooted deeper in our relationships with God during trials, challenging circumstances and even success.

This takes a journey of disciplined growth and maturity in our relationship, praying and study of God's Word.

God bless you, Kyle, and thank you again for sharing.

Thanks Bob, actually got the inspiration from the shower curtain my Mom has up during the summer months which has these scriptures, Philippians 4:4, Psalm 9:1, Philippians 4:11, and Ecclesiastes 11:9.

Over the last few days I had the vision of how the Lord uses what we go through in life as to shape us and the storms mold us with Faith, happiness is a choice, and Psalm 91 comes to mind how we’re too stay within the Lord even as things fall around us. How many times does Psalms mostly written by David through the Holy Spirit spoke of Joy of the Lord when in times of Trouble.

Paul after being shipped wrecked going to Rome and being bitten by the snake but no venom also came to mind.
Paul found the Joy of the Lord is the Strength through Grace. Hopefully this poem helps people to look past whatever is weighing them down, to let the Lord lift them up to see His Goodness that is our Joy
