People need to listen to him. In his homily, the pontiff said 'it is a bitter time, filled with the rumbling of war, growing injustice, famine, poverty and suffering,' but at this 'bleak and disconcerting' time, there are 'omens of even greater destruction and desolation'.

Things are definitely going to get much worse.

Also, the Bible does tell us that as the time for Christ’s return approaches, evil and social chaos will intensify. The Bible says that “evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived” in 2 Timothy 3:13.
