Pray without ceasing - acts 9

Lord Jesus, teach us how to pray.

"What is impossible with men, is possible with God"

Saul was stopped in his tracks by Jesus, His words, and some kind of blinding light.

Ananias was hiding from saul and praying when The Lord spoke to him.

'Paul prayeth' The Lord said.

Saul was praying to The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The Lord hears prayers.

It wasn't long before Paul was in the synagogue, teaching that Jesus was The Christ. Just when they thought that they'd got rid of troublemakers like Stephen. Paul was back, and he knew how to debate with religious people :) .

Well Paul used to be a Pharisee and they were always baiting and arguing with Jesus. When they did their prayers, it was in public and long and drawn out and repetitious.

God doesn't hear the prayers of the proud, He gives grace to the humble.
Also if you argue with your wife, he doesn't hear those prayers either. Some prayers can be an abomination to Him.

You need to come to Him with a contrite heart.

Proverbs 28:9

I suppose there could be a list of what NOT to do in prayer. lol

I believe that the point of Proverbs 28:9 is the state of the the person attempting prayer.

Proverbs 28:9 (NASB)
9 He who turns away his ear from listening to the law,
Even his prayer is an abomination.
If one is not listening to the message of God, he is not really praying, but attempting to shout God down or change His subject.
