Quiet meditation with piano.

Good morning, Marilyn;

Margaret Rizza was the composer from England.

Take My Life, Lord reminded me of our worship services back in the 90s when a brother or sister would offer "special song." I enjoyed the pianist's use of MAJ7 chords in between the lyrics. God bless you and thank you for sharing.

Hi Bob,

Thank you for that info. I had to listen again for the Maj.7 chords. You certainly have a good ear. Do you play organ or piano so you therefore know those lovely chords?

Hello Marilyn;

In the intro right before the singer sings the first verse, you can hear that beautiful Maj7 chord. At the end of each verse it repeats the Maj7 except the last verse that ends in major. See if you can hear it.

I learned to play guitar when I was 11. At 17 I learned my Maj7 chords and Maj7 A-G scales to complement the chords.

It's a beautiful worship song. ((( \😇/ )))

Oh of course a guitar. I learnt that too as well as the piano. You must have strong fingers for the chords and scales. Did you know about the Maj. 9ths and 11ths too?

Hi Marilyn;

Yes, I also sang second tenor while switching between rhythm and lead guitars. I used 9ths and 11ths in some song arrangements but mostly Maj 7s in Christian music to replace major chords prior to chorus, bridges, and endings.

As I got older God raised younger guitar players to join our ministry (praise God!) so I slowly stepped aside.

I was blessed by Take My Life, Lord and may obtain the chord sheets and learn to play.

Oh I would have loved to hear you sing and play. Glad you enjoy God`s wonderful `colour` in chords.
