Car Boot Sale faith?
When I received salvation
It was a full package
Along with a detailed makers handbook to identify what God had given,
And how to use the Masters tools.
Two millennium later
Are some of the tools God gave us perceived to become irrelevant in a twenty first century church?
Who are we to decide those that are relevant and those set aside?
Or has the Lord come again
And I missed it?
And now living in the new revelation under new rules?
Is it time to have a clear out of the back of the wardrobe
Things we were not happy with,
Things we don’t use?
Sort into three piles
Things we want to keep,
Things put on one side
To be pondered later,
Things that could go for the car boot sale I don’t want them, don’t need them,
Not part of my faith,
Let’s see:-
Salvation cross and forgiveness of sin
Definitely want to keep
No faith with out them,
Parables feeding five thousand walking on water
Juries out on those,
Put to one side to ponder on, when I go through the bible I’m sure there will be more of those,
Now comes the difficult part
Speaking in tongues
I’m sure I could if I wanted to,
Car boot sale.
Heal the sick, raising the dead,
Problem is, when I ask and if it doesn’t happen how could I face those who put faith in my prayer?
No, car boot the safest lace for those!
Continued on going through the bible
And came across this verse
John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
Oops I’m going to have to start again!!!
Can’t sell off my arsenal,
The tools God gave me to win souls for Christ
and just because the church have moved on,
Doesn’t mean they are not relevant
Otherwise why did God included them?
Is it not time to dust off,
polish, re-read the instructions
Practice so when we need to use the things stored in the back of the cupboard,
When we put on the full armour of God!
We have to go without our belt,
Cos we sold it at the car boot sale?
Thinking it was not important
I never need one of those!
