Receive the man of God

Receive the Man of God
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
– John 13:20

I can’t tell you how many born-again, Holy Ghost-filled Christians pick their pastor apart on Saturday night and then expect him to pray the prayer of faith for them Sunday morning! They’ll constantly make critical comments about the evangelists and preachers that God has sent to minister to them and then wonder why the rain of the Spirit has all but dried up in their churches.

Most of those folks would never dream of criticizing the ministry of Jesus. Yet, according to the Word of God, that’s precisely what they’re doing. You see, Jesus said, “He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me.”

I know ministers fail sometimes. I know they make mistakes. Jesus knew they would too. But, even so, He said, “If you receive them, you receive Me.”

If you think some preacher’s doctrine is wrong, then pray for him. Stop sitting under his ministry if necessary. But the Scripture says, “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand” (Romans 14:4, New International Version).

The ministers of the gospel are not your servants, they’re God’s servants. Whether they’re right or whether they’re wrong, love them and respect them if for no other reason than to honor the One who sent them.

Learn to receive the minister of God that Jesus sends to you with the same respect and the same honor that you would give Jesus Himself. You’ll open the door for great spiritual power to be released. You’ll clear the way for God to meet your needs. The Anointing of God will be released through the man of God to you.

Refuse to let criticism hold back the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Then get ready to be blessed because, I guarantee, He won’t hold out on you.

Good reminder, Cturtle. I have been guilty of doing that, myself. I know it's wrong and I hope I am not doing it any longer.

Dear, Cturtle;

I agree and enjoyed reading this thread.

We should always be able go to the minister and discuss the message if we don't understand, or disagree, and then pray for him/her. You'll be blessed to know they appreciate when we do that because a shepherd is always concerned with God's sheep regarding the growth in our walk with Christ.

God bless you and your family.

My pastor gave a sermon a while back about we are the bride and Jesus is the groom. It was such a beautiful display of love and romance that it moved me to tears. I thanked him after the service because I have never had that kind of love before. I was married 28 years and never once experienced love, not even second hand left over love... that's just sad. But this service was such an example of great love that I know in my heart I could never marry again without having that kind of love. I appreciated hearing this as a single woman...

I also told my pastor that every sermon he has preached God first moved it on my heart before hearing it from him. I told him all his services were confirmations to me in what I was hearing from God. He looked at me and said he appreciated me telling him that. He is a sweet man. I really enjoy hearing his services.

IF a minister is wrong, you pray for them, but dont sit under them good advice. Because this man has to answer to God and has more responsibility and by his own master he stands or falls. Otherwise if hes speaking or teaching wrong by the words of his own mouth he is condemned.

Give them time to repent though because, we can all make mistakes and fall into error if we arent careful.
I remember my schooldays, and of course when you are a child you have little choice of what teacher you will have. But you still need to go to school. The teachers need to answer to the principal. And the principal needs to answer to the board of trustees, who most often are the parents.

Thankfully I dont remember any of my school teachers being really bad but I do know in some schools teachers and principals could be abusive. When that happens, stay home and go over and above and call the police. I say this becase there was a case in my local area where the principal was caught viewing child pronography even on the school computer. I dont know how long he was doing it for but he was sacked. For a long time he tried to cover it up bit the truth will out. Just because he is a principal doesnt mean he could abuse his position.

Well, sure, dont falsely accuse someone.
But if someone is lying or viewing pornography, its up to you to report.

Dont try to cover that up and say, well hes a principal he can do what he likes. Or, maybe he has a reason for viewing child pornography. Um no. When you know somethings wrong, its wrong, and it doesnt take a genius to understand that.

When my pastor speaks the Word of God, the sheep listen.

Now the pastor may have other words to say, might make a few jokes, or add some comments of his own. But thats neither here nor there. As long as he speaks the Word of God, he is doing what God calls him to do, feed the flock.

I encourage everyone to listen, note down what he says and bring their Bibles to church so you can follow.

I have never heard anyone complain about a sermon, the only gripes would be if the sermon is too long, or they couldnt hear it because the microphones werent working.
If I went to a church and the preacher was not preaching the Word but just talking about himself, then I would proably walk out, but that hasnt happened.

The only time I remember was one time I went to a church service that I had never been to before, and it was advertised as church, but it was rather strange because the speakers were asking everyone for their pay packets, and then they had a comedy show. I thought to myself this isnt church but some kind of mockery of it. In the singing they divide the crowd i to two parts and tried to ake it a competition who could sing the loudest. And everytime the speaker said something, several people would call out amen and hooray and clap and cheer, like they were cheerleaders or something. They mentioned God but they kept asking Him for money. As if thats all He was, an ATM. So I didnt go back.

Maybe it was a special kind of church for business people or something, I dont know. I thought well if you unemployed or studying or not able to earn a salary you couldnt go to this church because it depended on your pay packet.
