Return Trip from San Diego, California

Dear brothers and sisters;

My wife and I are going to San Diego from Sunday, August 6th through Monday, August 21. This will be a reunion of my siblings, Dad and step Mom and relatives while there. We'll also have our 2nd annual "friends gathering" at Liberty Station close to downtown SD. These are friends who I have known since we were 10 years old, or in the 5th grade. If you can see the walk bridge, we'll be on the picnic side. We're going to drive this time. Please pray for our safe travels going to and returning back to the SF Bay Area. Hello everyone;

We returned from San Diego on Tuesday the 22nd. We had a lot of fun doing things with our family and friends. We visited a town in the San Diego mountains called Julian, met with my long time friends from elementary, high school and little league baseball.

Hey Via, thank you for remembering my Dad. He turned 87 last July 6th and my brothers and I helped him and our step Mom with some projects in the backyard of their house.

We attended a Padres game. They beat the Baltimore Orioles 5 - 2. It was fun to root for our team in our home town.

Afterward we strolled around the Gas Lamp district downtown. It was lively. We had coffee and dessert with our friends.

Hurricane Hilary was a lot of rain, many cities needed to clean up but to date there were no reported fatalities. Praise God! It was good for the weather media and citizens to over prepare just in case.

I encourage us all to take the time to get away and have fun. God permits that so we can get refreshed and strengthened when we return to our tasks.
