Return unto your rest ...

Psalms 116:7, “Return unto your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.”

In trying times the peace and the quiet rest that is found in the Lord can be lost, but when we lose rest and peace of mind we need to turn unto the Lord, for in the Lord there is calm, peace, and quiet rest. Reflect upon the times that the Lord has been mighty for us and do not allow current trials or sorrows to remove the quiet faith of knowing that the Lord will be mighty for us once more. There is strength in the Lord, and there is quiet faith and consistency of belief and we should not be easily removed from the place of the Lord’s rest. Joy and gladness are joined unto holiness, and in the presence of the Lord tears are dried and fears are banished, so seek to return unto our rest by the power of prayer and in seeking the Lord’s presence.

Hello Exonomia;

In my walk with Jesus it still took me years to learn that during my troubles that I could not control or brought upon myself, I would turn to the world be it a movie, music, or sporting event to escape.

I learned that once my peace was lost to turn back to God and He replenishes my peace and calm. The problem may still be there but now I can think better and He gets me through it all.

Thank you for sharing the Word with all of us, Pastor. God bless you and your family.
