Sabbath 10/21/17 Seventh Day Baptist Edgewater Pastor Keith sermon “The Son of God” Matthew 26:57-68
A dramatic event took place when God sent Jesus to Jerusalem. Thousands of Jews became Christians and followers of Jesus Christ. Many people followed Jesus and some didn’t. Many Jewish priests wanted to stone Jesus many times but especially when He was asked if He was the Son of God. Jesus said yes and the Pharisees got angry. Jesus is the Son of God and we are serving a living Jesus today. Jesus is named Emmanuel which means God is with us. Jesus is listed as the Word of God. Jesus said that He was the “I AM” that came before Abraham.
Instead Jesus called himself the Son of Man and this way He could preach/teach and not be stoned by the Jews. Today, the name of Jesus makes people get upset and it sparks arguments. Jesus is the name that should be voiced in public. Jesus alone is the one who brings salvation to us all. Our faith in salvation depends on Jesus being who He said He was. Jesus IS the Son of God!! He or she who has the Son has Life and those who give Him the positon of Lordship in their lives shall be saved. Period!
You can’t just believe Jesus is who He says but don’t put Jesus in control of your life. That is NOT how it goes. You must believe, accept Jesus into your life and walk in Jesus’s ways. Make Jesus, the Son of God, ruler of your life. Jesus IS King of Kings and Lord of Lord! Let Jesus go before you, behind you and with you.
