Sat alone
He sat alone in the garden
Talking to Father
Knowing what’s to come,
A one man mission
To save mankind, from sin.
A once and for all sacrifice,
Crucified…
Not my will, Father,
but thine, be done
Forty days fasting in the desert
Hungry, alone…
The tempter temping
To take the easy way out, Could have called down legions of angels but
stood firm,
quoting chapter and verse,
Away from me, Satan!
it is written:
‘Man shall not live on bread alone,
But on every word that comes, from the mouth of God.’
He stood alone
In the multitudes
A stranger in a crowd
Not seeking fame and fortune
But humbled Himself like a servant
sharing the gospel,
So His Father’s will be done
I’m sat alone in my garden
Talking to Father, asking, what’s to come?
Will I be tempted beyond I am able,
Will I let you down?
Will others notice
Will others get hurt?
Will others miss hearing the gospel?
While I’m sat here alone?
Shall I just sit here
Contemplating
Or go out into all the world?
He sat alone in the garden
Talking to Father
Knowing what’s to come,
A one man mission
To save mankind, from sin.
A once and for all sacrifice,
Crucified…
Not my will, Father,
but thine, be done
