Staying alive 💃🕺

Not part of the tribute band
(Staying alive 💃🕺 a pew warmers Psalm)

I’m not part of the tribute band
I’m the real thing!
Not just copying the famous,
The popular
Tick Tock trending
Saint of yesteryear,
Not wearing no dad jumpers
Hand jiving,
Dancing round handbags,
Not a blast from the past
A recycled flower powered
Sandel wearing hippy
I’m the creation God made me
I’m singing a new song!

I’m Praising God the way I was made
Maybe I’m a wall flower,
On the edge of Gods dance floor,
Not Leaping about,
Crowd surfing
Or in the groove!
But God made me for a time like this!
Not a duplicate
Not a copy of the famous,
Not a cracked record,
Not to following the crowd
I’m not on the out side looking in
Jesus saved me
I’ve been set me free,
The Holy Spirit put a fire in my soul
I’m free to let go and let God!
See in Jesus the real me!
As God intended
A new creation
Not of rehashed version of a tired old rock band

Hello Alan;

Do you remember
A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles in 1964? While living in England we saw the movie when it came out. My parents loved rock and the radio was on all day and in the car.

After reading (Staying alive 💃🕺 a pew warmers Psalm) I was just sharing about a block party where I grew up had it's 3rd annual gathering. There were 3 rock bands (one that I played with back in 1971,) bbq and kegs of beer, all free, just bring yourself.

It took me back to the days that were fun and not so fun, but I would not want to go back. God bless the bands and some of the old neighbors. They stayed rooted all these years but my wife and I moved on in 1988.

In your poem you wrote,
"Not a cracked record". Earlier this year my 19 year old nephew saw my collection of about 300 albums in the living room. He had no idea inside the jackets were vinyl records that actually play music!

I'm packing them up and will give them all to my brother next month. His hobby is collecting albums, cleaning and repackaging them, keeping a spreadsheet inventory of his history of music and also enjoy playing them on a nice Technics turntable.

Anyway, your poem reminded me of these nice thoughts but am so grateful God made me who I am today. I do have regrets but at the same time I don't have regrets.

God bless you, brother, and thank you for writing.
