The Arm of flesh vs. The Arm of God

The Arm Of Flesh vs The Arm Of God

Christian Women's Devotion on Encouragement

Read: 2 Chronicles 32:1-8

Hezekiah, King of Judah, was facing war with Sennacherib, King of Assyria. He did what he could do in the flesh for protection from the possible attack. Then he gathered the people together and encouraged them by telling them to be strong and not be afraid of the King of Assyria - because they had 'Another' with them greater than those with him (v.7). He then makes an interesting point in v.8: "With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles." With the Lord on our side, we can have the victory. No matter what we are facing, we will have the victory and overcome.
We all need to hear words of encouragement to keep us pressing on in God. We all need to hear that God is still in control even if the situation we are in seems out of control and hopeless. We all need to know that what we are doing is making a difference and that we are appreciated.
Maybe there is someone you can encourage today. It can make all the difference in whether they will keep pressing on, or just give up. Don't let them 'Give Up'!

Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing. - 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (AMP))

Bring someone encouraging news
That will renew hope to their souls
Tell them you really appreciate them
And that God is still in control.
