The clock is still ticking

The clock is still ticking

The clock,
its still ticking
No time to reset ,
No starting over,
Seconds are passing
No turning time back…
No change,
what happened, happened
No time to wait and see…
Deciding tomorrow,
Time’s moving on,
Can’t take time back…
It’s already happened
if only…
I wish I’d never…
But time,
steadily passing
Try hard to catch up
Keep running
Keep moving
Time flies
Time waits for no one,
Sands of time, fast flowing
Running out.
Don’t know when He’s coming
No time to get caught up with
with worldly entanglements
Only get one time to make a first impression,
No time to spare
No time to waste
No time for second place…
No time for ‘just let me catch my breath,’
This is your time, use it..
Jesus is coming…

Times up…

The clock stopped…

WOW...... Gosh.... I don't know if I have missed your posts or that you haven't posted lately... Either way.....I have missed your brilliant birthed thoughts for the world to see.

The story of life... the choice of NOT wasting our time on regrets or too much planning for tomorrows.
The story of making it count.. and not looking back.

and then..... one day... there is no more breath in our lungs. We are finished.

WOW.

Just had a break waiting for my brain to catch up🥰

Happy New Year, Alan;

I don't get it. What is The clock is still ticking saying to us?

God bless
you, brother.

Bob
There was a fault with the clock at church and it was displaying the wrong time the next week it wasn’t there… beyond repair, so for the last two weeks pastor Gordon has made several comments about the time during the services
My body was in the service but my brain, well was on a journey of its own prompted by the comments a cacophony of thoughts crowded my brain
Hearing clips of a sermon about Jesus coming again
Thoughts of people I knew who dipped their ‘toe ‘ into Christianity a nd decided either it wasn’t for them or they were not yet ready,
Those who found the world more enticing and those who were put off by one of Gods storm troopers
making their first contact with faith and the church not the best, to say the least.
And as Larry Norman said in one of his songs “I wish we’d all been ready”
Jesus is coming again, when we don’t know when and at that time that’s it for the world as we now know it, the clock will stop ticking… and if death doesn’t get us first we’ll have no more time
Time to do the things we’ve been putting off, people to see, things to do, Gospel to tell
The older I get the more sense of urgency of life I feel the need to get up and go… if my body allows me

Hope this gives you a glimpse into the results of throwaway comments, it’s not just the sermons that provoke thought?

Good morning, Alan;

Actually I'm blessed you replied to my question in post#6. What's today, Tuesday? We're 8 hours behind your time. I had no desire to log on at CFS this morning. It happens.

Things were off for me last Sunday and yesterday. I delivered the sermon, "Are We Ready for His Return?" referencing Scriptures in Revelation 11:16-18, Ephesians 2:1-2, Revelation 22:1-21, 2 Peter 3:9 and reiterated Revelation 22:20-21.

I didn't preach fire and brimstone, doom and gloom, the Rapture, millenium, tribulation, dispensationalism much of which is presented in areas of Revelation. God gave me the Word of Benediction in Chapter 22 to deliver the message on divine hope. I presented the message as easy to understand as possible.

Still, my Church family in Los Altos, CA, God bless them, many seemed so lost, glassy eyed. Here's a twist - instead of sitting in the pews and wanting to leave, I felt the need to step down from the pulpit and go. Of course, I would never do that and with hope in my experience I understood.

After the first service I had another preaching engagement at a Church in Daly City, CA. Their pastor was overseas. I presented the same message and their congregation understood, completely. I also did the Eucharist Communion and prayed at the end for members who came up with serious prayer requests. After the service members spoke with me with what they understood of the message and shared how they strive to be ready for Jesus return.

What a contrast. When I got home I was really tired and after a good night's sleep the Lord reminded me that many are striving for Jesus Return but the work continues for all of us, to remind those who could care less or believers who are not prepared to be ready for His return.

So, what do all of us have to do to turn our attitudes around? Start with God’s unconditional love, and our love for one another. Forgive them. When we stay focused on God He will guard our hearts and tongues.

2 Peter 3:9, 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. - ESV

So whether we're worshiping in the pew or standing at the pulpit we need to remain watchful because the clock is ticking and as you shared, Alan, one day it will stop ticking.

But for today, I am grateful and so relieved that God is patient with us.

I have to work some through some things, (it never stops.) I've been there before and the unexpected will be there again. What is a relief, is that our God is with us through it all.

God bless you, Alan.

I loved this reflection on Psalm 90:12-13.
