Adrian Rogers, in one of his recorded sermons on the radio this morning, in talking about the state of the human heart and it's being utterly beyond repair due to the wickedness of that part of our humanity, humorously said that reliance upon the feelings we get from our hearts is similar to an attempt at using a sun dial with a flashlight at night time...
