The Joy of The Lord using Us at a Given Moment

Hello brothers and sisters;

One of my daily prayer requests is "Lord, here am I. Send me and use me." I give thanks for each new day and am blessed when someone or a situation crosses my path.

The joy is when I truly feel inside that this is coming from God and the doors open from all sides. It can come in small or huge ways, it doesn't matter especially when I know it's coming from the Lord.

The task at first may seem challenging, I may have to get up super early, go the distant or put in a full day. Or, I may ask, will I be able to do what is asked of me by the person(s) asking or tending to the situation. God is the One who knows the final result and it will bring glory to Himself. With that Truth, then I know He is the One who will complete whatever it is He calls me to do.

Ephesians 2:7-10, 7 that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God— 9 not because of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. - RSV

I'll share more in this thread but would like to hear when the Lord uses you, how it felt and what was the blessing / result for the one you helped.

God bless you all.

Bob

Hello Bob,

Thank you for sharing your insightful thoughts and the powerful verses from Ephesians. I deeply resonate with your desire to be used by the Lord and to recognize His hand in the opportunities that come our way.

Your words reminded me of a recent experience in my own life. Not long ago, while still finding my footing on my journey with Jesus, I came across a blogger from Kenya on YouTube. She dedicates her life to Jesus and His praise. Initially, I thought God was giving me an opportunity to promote my English-language Psalm songs through her channel, hoping to expand my audience.

However, God had a different plan. This woman had a lifelong dream of having her own worship song. I offered to write her a song, thinking it would be a mutually beneficial arrangement. In the end, I wrote eight songs for her, and while it didn't significantly increase my subscriber count, I gained a profound understanding of God's purpose.

Through this experience, God taught me the value of selfless service and the joy of fulfilling someone's dream, especially someone who dedicates their life to Him. It was a humbling reminder that God's ways are not always our ways, and His rewards are often far greater than we can imagine.

Thank you for sharing your reflections and inspiring us to seek God's guidance in our daily lives.

God bless you,
Yurii

Good morning, Yurii;

God bless you for sharing your testimony. In moments like these I find that Ephesians uplifts me. Paul spent 3 years with the Church in Ephesus, he loved them. They grasped the Gospel and as Paul taught he was encouraged. That same effect passes on to these times.

During February and March this year I got overwhelmed on all sides with the death of 4 loved ones. At times I could not serve others on my own zeal but through prayer and study of the Word I fed on the Love, inspiration and strength of Christ and His servants.

The Lord got the glory but it felt right that He got me through it and I'm blessed to have served. Knowing your situation I'm sure you can relate.

God bless you, Yurii, and your entire family.

Good morning, Bob,

Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience. I deeply appreciate your encouragement and the reminder of the power of Ephesians.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of your four loved ones. Please accept my sincere condolences during this difficult time.

Your testimony resonates with me. It's truly remarkable how the Word of God, especially Paul's letters, can uplift and sustain us, even in the midst of overwhelming grief and hardship. The fact that you were able to serve others while facing such personal loss is a powerful testament to the strength that comes from Christ.

I can certainly relate to the feeling of being sustained by God's love and strength during challenging times. It's a humbling experience to realize that we are not relying on our own zeal, but on His grace.

Thank you for sharing this reminder of God's faithfulness and for your prayers for me and my family.

May God bless you and your family, Bob, and may He comfort you in your time of mourning.

About 15 years ago, my wife's aunt passed away at the age of 92, widowing her uncle Marlin who was 93 or 94. Their daughter, my wife's cousin, was living with them and helping to take care of them. We would visit them from time to time, and after the aunt passed away, we visited again. Marlin was having trouble getting around and rarely made it to church any more. Since I would do special music every so often at church, and he had remarked a number of times that he liked my singing, they asked if I would bring my guitar along and sing some songs with him at his home. So, I did, and we would do that every few months. I worked out his favorite song, Battle Hymn of the Republic, to sing with him every time we visited. He would always light up when singing it. As years went by, he had more and more trouble speaking, and eventually he was bed ridden also. But he always lit up when Battle Hymn was sung. Finally he got to the point of not being able to speak at all, but we were all blessed to see him light up to hear his song sung. When he was on his death bed, we went to sing to him one last time. We sung his song, and a few times he was able to open his eyes and his daughter took the opportunity to say some of her last words to her father, knowing he might be able to hear her. I think we all were blessed to experience those times. Warms your heart even while it is breaking.

Good morning, Big Moose;

"In Moments Like These"
(remember that worship song?)

I know you've been in the music ministry for quite some time. To use your gift to share and bless Uncle Marlin, his daughter (and your wife was present?) is was a wonderful testimony that I enjoyed reading.

God bless you, Big Moose, and thank you.

Bob
