The man on the middle cross

This offering has been on the back burner since I wrote it at Christmas…
Feel free to forward or use it in anyway you wish as you prepare for the upcoming Easter celebrations

The man on the middle cross

The man on the middle cross
Why was He even there?
The man on the middle cross
He said to me
“Your sins are forgiven,
In paradise today, you’ll be,”

The crowds mocked and abused Him
Yet there was something about that man,
They nailed a placard on His cross,
claiming He was:-
“ King of the Jews,”
The religious leaders condemned Him
The crowds demanding, “Crucify”
The Roman guards, they mocked Him
Yet He hung there so serenely accepting His fate,

He spoke to His friends and family
sat there, at the foot of His cross,
Arranging care of His mother
Speaking reassurance, love peace,

The man on the middle cross,
Being crucified, though innocent of any wrong…
He forgave me,
as we were dying
gave me inner peace…
I should be on that cross for what I’d done,
But the man on the middle cross,
why Him?

The third man on the cross left his life screaming, cursing, mocking, in agony and pain,
Yet the man on the middle cross seemed to be waiting
TIL the appointed hour came…

The man on the middle cross looked heaven wards, Then cried,
“It is finished”
“Father, into your hands, I commit my spirit.”
It was at that moment
He died,

Well , more that He gave up His life,
The rulers, church leaders Romans legions could not kill Him.
He gave up His life…
The grave could not hold Him,

All I know
I’m in paradise, forgiven,

but…

The story, it’s not over…

To be continued... John 14:3

I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
