The Narrow Road
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matthew 7:13-14).
In the above scriptures, Jesus Christ is providing us with both advice and warning.
The bad road in this sinful world is smooth and wide, easy to drive on. The view can seem nice, the vehicle can be big and comfortable, there are always many people around to join in the ride, but it's destination is a dead end. It has no future, only a present.
The good road is sometimes narrow and very bumpy. It can sometimes be a lonely ride, difficult to follow, but at journey's end there is life, eternal life. Why not take the road that goes somewhere?
