The Outflow of Your Ministry...What Lasting Testimony Have You Built

For those of you who disciple others, and help them to rise up in spiritual maturity, they are a testimony before our Lord and to the unbelieving world the depths and power of the Lord's TRUTH within you. Therein is the immeasurable responsibility for being as pure, forthright, solid and resolved, with your feet planted firmly on that most narrow path that leads to that narrow gate that so few ever find.

1 Thessalonians 1:6-10
6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Leave behind a testimony worthy of the Lord, and the only way to do that is to point ONLY to your Lord.

Any man who has his own ministry, with his name on it, THAT is a self-serving, man-made ministry. The Lord has used a number of men's ministries to His glory, but when it points to the man by name, and the fame is contingent upon his PR and expensive promotional campaigns through the years, the Lord of all creation is only a bystander to that man's name...those who have rock star style fame. Some have even earned infamy, but in the end, the lime light is shifted over to mere men, leaving the Lord somewhere outside the spotlight.

Being useful in the Hands of the Lord Most High, with your words and efforts pointing ONLY to Christ, that is a legacy in the lives of others worthy of Heavenly reward. Many rock star men speak of Christ, and some quite often, but YOUR life and efforts working only toward the glorification of the Lord above all else, those are the steps that lead to reward we should all covet more than anything else in this world.

Praise and Gory to the Lord.

I think that if a man can look back on his work and say.........."I made a difference in the lives of some people", then he will be satisfied with his retirement and his life. I know that I can and did.

There are two feelings that all men have as they grow older.............
1. Did I make a difference?
2. Every man wants to feel like he is needed!

I hope that I leave behind more than just an example of faith and stature, but that I help others to become greater than I, who heap up for themselves greater reward than anything I could ever hope for for myself, because that is how we help in bringing greater glory to the Lord who is more than worthy.

When we speak boldly, tempered with the love, and wanting to please God in all that we do and say, that we have toward those to whom we minister, we must cherish those greatly with whom we have been charged by the Lord (independent of man-made assignments) in the task to which we lay our hands. May He find within us, as His ministers, a burning within us to serve with our all.

1 Thessalonians 2:4-9
4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
5 For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God [is] witness:
6 Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor [yet] of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
7 But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
8 So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

I can understand that ministering from the distance of a pulpit, farther away than arm's length, leaves one not knowing who he reached or to what extent. That's one of the problems with churchianity.

It's the REAL pastors who are the front-line workers, discipling face to face the new converts and babes in Christ, and they know to what extent they are touching lives because they're directly involved with those to whom they minister, just as Paul of Tarsus.

Amen

Well brother......I will have left behind a lot more than that but I did not want to sound like I was bragging.
