The Pen-Pal Thread

Hello Davey Do;

Just a thought after reading The Pen-Pal Thread.

For many years I enjoyed writing to find out what was going on with others. It was fun to receive a letter. Learning how to type could earn a certificate for a certain amount of words typed in a minute. In the daily newspapers it was neat if a reader's letter was included to the editor, Ann Landers or Dear Abby. lol!

Then when email came out, followed by texting, electronic messaging, voice recognition, etc...it led to less handwriting.

What's ironic is electronic communication has created convenient one or two sentences, with less paragraph or 2nd page. When I have an important message to send others I will barely receive a sentence or only 3 or 4 words.

Handwriting is indeed a lost art. It also carries the courtesy of acknowledging the other's name. I also feel a handwritten letter is more personalized.

The last time I hand wrote a two page letter and mailed to my sister was about 3 years ago. It was a personal situation between brother and sister.

Now that I think about it, I could have hand written this post, scanned and posted it here.
lol!

God bless you, Davey Do, thank you for sharing this interesting thread.

Good morning EVERYONE.... OH how I love this idea... I truly do because I think the experience of writing letters ( for those of us who have a special love of the pen and writing... will find this place to be most therapeutic.
I need to find a method whereby I can transfer my little offerings for this thread from my paper to the screen.

I think I will simply have to take a picture of what I write... down-load it and then submit it. I did do that once and with this picture I am doing it again. I don't have the brain matter to learn NEW computer skills.... and so.... I will begin with an art offering of SUPPORT during the very LONG and BARREN waiting period of SNAIL MAIL connection which still has not worked out into a steady flow. It is perplexing.... I am PATIENT..... .BUT.... my pen-pal is NOT. HAHAHA.

Brilliant IDEA... all the way around. AS my famous line goes...... SEE YOU IN THE MAIL.... and now.... UNTIL then... this place is OPEN. :D

Oh my goodness...... the world is a BETTER PLACE because of you Mr. DO DO. HAHAHAHA
This is going to take the GUILT away and INCREASE the pleasure for YOU...

The mail has been interesting to say the least. but.... it has been such a DELIGHT for me to experience having a pen-pal.

Y'all are in for a REAL treat.

I am off for another night with my family and so I will resume when I get back.

My bugs were REJECTED at the BORDER!!!! well... maybe NOT the border but Dave RAN like a baby!!!!
NO BUGS ALLOWED in this thread. Bring HUGS.....NOT BUGS. :D

My sleep over at my aunt's did NOT happen due to the roads being BAD.... so.... I am playing with my pencil and this is my offering for TODAY!!! LOOKIE Big Moose .... I did NOT ruin DD's nose. My own face.... NOT so good.... At least DD got a GOOD NOSE. Sometimes the finished product just doesn't come out right.

Letters from my pen-pal have started to flow... so.... gonna be a letter-writing day.

Ok....so the significance of the BIG hand ( not a warped foot )... is that the fingers are bent to form a fist with a THUMBS down.... as in BOO to BUGS. Those ridges are the knuckles bent over. HAHAHA.... Just saying. HA
The hand was my favorite part! My interpretation of it was
1. great detail
2. could be a thumbs down on the bugs
3. could be Davey Do gesturing "Go figure, or Check this out...no lines indeed!"
