I'm browsing the channels and there's advertised a 2016 movie, The Perfect Weapon.
I tune in and the movie description reads it's a film about government control of the future.

So I hit play. It's not a Segal film. But it is an expose piece about government and the cyber-op's tactics used to control parts of the world.

Mistake on FIOS programming? Or a way to bring forth the documentary of the same name?

Read George Orwells book........1984.
 
Oh I'll have to check that out. I definitely believe the government can make all kinds of technological mind control devices and even make weapons of it to use on other countries. Imagine if they could make Russian people turn against Putin. In the future they might be able to do something like that.
 
Look up deep fake videos. It is amazing what they can do with current technology. It is also frightening to think what they might do to people who don't agree with their agenda.

I think the book was written in 1949. Now, consider what he said and what we see now............

1. large TVs which can see into all corners of your house — they will be located in homes and public spaces, and are used to transmit messages from the party and monitor civilian activity.

2. These Telescreens can identify people, notice when their facial expressions change, or whether their heart or breathing gets faster.
These are in place in mots USA airports and In China over 500,000 members of the Uighur Muslim minority are being tracked by facial recognition cameras.

3. In the book.....Winston uses Speakwrite in his job as a copy-writer in the Records section of the Ministry of Truth, part of the dark ruling party. It's a kind of recording device which, when spoken into, coverts speech into text on the telescreen. Computer,
Android phone users and OTTER has a live transcribe ability.feature. It's designed for deaf people and can change 70 languages from speech to text in real time.

4. In the book, 1984 focuses on a world where war is ceaseless, fought in far away lands with mysterious enemies.
Orwell describes huge military bases called "Floating Fortresses" which "guard strategic spots on the sea lanes." = Aircraft Carriers!

5. In "1984," the Versificator is a tool which automatically produces music and literature in line with ruling party standards, without human input. Today we call that artificial intelligence.

6. Mr. Orwell pictured the State as "BIG BROTHER" and he is watching you. = Today we call that PROPAGANDA.
PUTIN in on poster all over Russia. XE is everywhere in China. Kim Jong-Un has his picture on every wall.

George Orweel was not a prophet from God, but boy did he ever have some really great insights!

When first published in England the books tittle was, “Animal Farm, A Fairy Story”. “A Fairy Story” was dropped from the tittle soon after.

Orwell described Animal Farm as “a satirical tale against Stalin” in correspondence. Although a socialist, Orwell detested Stalin and wanted to expose the hypocrisy of the Russian revolution and subsequent rewrite of history and the brutality of the tyrannical Stalinist government.

I won’t say too much more in case you may want to read it but it documents, in an adult fairytale story, the way people (pigs and farm animals) are manipulated and misled by ruthless self interested individuals who, in the end, are just as bad or worse masters than those they replaced.
 
George Orwell was said to have written 1984 as a work intended to project the worse case
senario should the British government continue on it's current path at that time.

Due to this he intended the title to be 1948. However, it is said also that his publisher warned against it. Because government censors would not approve it being published if it's title implied a political projection toward their , GB's, immediate future.That's why they made the title to read as futuristic, 1984, and described as a Dystopian novel.

I have heard many readers say it was more like prophecy for today's America.
I tend to see their point. Lot's of Big Brother programs in the novel exist today. One that I know of started with Karl Marx's Marxist Russian model of, thought reeducation programs.

''Gender Sensitivity Training Programs'', Etc... In America today.

It's on Amazon Prime for free all the time. I just watched it tonight. The film depicts the possible situation should the country become a one-party state under the liberals.

Wow! Yes he hit the nail on the head with those predictions of the future! Technology is scary because of the potential to use it for bad things. I saw on Tik Tok where a man made a video of how at the airport, when he walked up to one of the huge screens on the wall, it can display only his flight information and his destination and things like the time and temperature in his destination right now. It said welcome (his name) and displayed the information just from him walking near it and in it's range. It somehow had his info, probably from his phone and displayed it. Another lady made a Tik Tok of herself going to a store and how it processed her payment using her palm print. I guess connected to her phone and her payment method was stored in her phone similar to Apple Pay and face ID. It's crazy how technology is now.

Now this is none of my business and feel free to totally ignore me......BUT, "Tik ToK" according to Secretary of State of the USA U.S. Secretary of State says user gathered by Tik Tok data is sent to China.........
“It’s not possible to have your personal information flow across a Chinese server,” he warned during a British media interview, without that data “ending up in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party,”.

Be very careful!!!!
