The depth of sorrow can come quickly as events occur within our lives. We have days of great joy but within our hearts there is the awareness that there will be days of sadness. We have days of health but sickness eventually comes and we feel the weakness of the flesh in which we dwell. Life is good, and life is wonderful, but in life we know that change will come. The calm in the storm and the peace during times of trial does not always come easily, but if we learn the power of praise we shall stand. Joyful praise fills the heart with gladness and lifts out spirits unto the throne of God and joyful praise gives us strength not seen by the eyes of the flesh. Music and song give power to joy, and music and song give power when we walk in the sadness of difficult days. For much of my life I only sang praises unto the Lord when I attended a church service, now I sing praises often and I find joy and strength in songs of praise lifted unto the Lord God and the Lord Jesus. When you are sick try singing a song of praise, and when you are sad or discouraged sing a song of praise and you might find that there truly is power in praising the Lord. Praise gives us power to overcome, and praise gives us power to rise up and to stand.
Psalms 67:3-6 "Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you. (4) O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for you shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. (5) Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you. (6) Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us."
