The Tribulation Calendar. (1) Overview.

OVERVIEW

God made the nation of Israel to rule over the other nations righteously, under Him. However, Israel eventually turned away from God, so He told them by His prophets that they would have a period of chastisement - 70 X 7 years.

The main part of that period, 69 x 7 years has been fulfilled up to the cross, then there is a gap (of about 2,000 years), for the formation of the Body of Christ. So that brings us up to today when the Body of Christ purpose is nearly complete and then it will be the time for God to finish Israel`s chastisement of the last 7 years.

This is often called the time of Jacob`s trouble.

The tribulation and great tribulation, the time of God`s wrath for the rebellious nations finishes a month short of the 7 years.

In this series I want to look at all the details in God`s word as to the main events and when they occur in the 7 years and beyond.



Thus we will be looking at -

- When the Peace Treaty is signed,

- when Israel starts their sacrifices in their Temple again,

- when the global leader desecrates the Holy Place.

- when Christ delivers Israel,

- when Israel mourns and the Temple is cleansed,

- and when there is rejoicing in Israel for their National Deliverance.


There are lots of details to put together and they all need to be within the Jewish calendar. So I`ll do a step at a time so we can understand what God is saying.

The Application:

Preparedness that we as Christians can live our daily lives.

Often as believers we can be caught up in our daily life and see God`s word as just all about us and God. However, God`s word is all about Christ – His Character and His Purposes. Thus, we need to know all of what God has written concerning these.

God has purpose for Israel, for the nations and for the Body of Christ. These groups are clearly written about, and we can see what God is saying to each.

As to the nations, there is so much evil happening in the world that if we don`t know God`s purposes then we can be fearful. God`s word says –

`And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men`s hearts failing from fear and the expectation of those things coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.` (Luke 21: 25 & 26)

So, God in His omniscience (all knowing) has written His plans in His word and as we study those, we gain more understanding and appreciation of what God is doing.

The Father said to His Son –

`The LORD (Father) said to my Lord (Son) “Sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool.” (Ps. 110: 1)

And this is what we see in the world today the Father bringing the nations to judgment. The first one is the Russian Federation plus Iran and others. We see their war machines already at war, but God will deal with them. We will look into the details in this study.

What a great God we serve and so let us look with greater appreciation as we see His great purposes unfold across this world. Unsettling times enables people to take stock of their future and what a great opportunity it is to pray for someone, intercede and encourage each other.

We are not of the darkness coming over the world but of the light – Jesus.

`But You brethren, are not in darkness that this Day (of the LORD in judgment) should overtake you as a thief.` (1 Thess. 5: 4)

`…but exhorting (encouraging and warning) one another and so much the more as you see the Day (of the LORD in Judgment) approaching.` (Heb. 10: 25)
