THE TEMPLE SACRIFICES
Israel rejoices at the Russian Federation being defeated, and then sets about to bury the dead of the armies scattered on their mountains. It takes seven months to cleanse their land. After the cleansing Israel will then start to sacrifice again to God.
`For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land.` (Ez. 39: 12)
`How long will the vision be concerning the daily sacrifices….` (Dan. 8: 13)
The month of Tishrei.
Tishrei is celebrated as the head of the Jewish year, the New Year. It has the holiest day of the Jewish year, the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. This would be the time for Israel to begin their sacrifices again.
For this day the people and priests and even the temple had to be cleansed. The people fasted throughout the day to express their repentance; animals were sacrificed and blood sprinkled inside the Holiest Place.
This was the one day in the year when the High Priest, and then only he, was allowed to enter the most sacred part of the temple.
The Fulfillment of the Day of Atonement.
`He will avenge the blood of His servants, and render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people.` (Deut. 32: 43)
The Day of Atonement is a period of time throughout the tribulation. It is then that God avenges and brings vengeance upon His adversaries.
We see in Revelation 8 the enactment of this.
`Then another messenger, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. And He was given much incense, that He should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
…then the messenger took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.` (Rev.8:3, 5)
The Lord is the `messenger,` heaven`s High priest who alone can provide atonement for Israel, the land and its people. We see Him interceding for Israel and then bringing judgment of fire upon the earth to the rebellious.
The Feast of Trumpets is shown as the seven trumpet warnings in Revelation 8 & 9.
