The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness....

All FLESH is as grass that withers “under the sun” of God’s wrath upon us. His people must enter into His rest….under His shade…from the wrath of God that is currently upon all men as it is revealed from heaven (present tense) for ungodliness and unrighteousness. Let us be diligent and enter into His rest…in the here and now. We MUST fear God and keep His commandments.

Hebrews 4:10-11 KJV
(10) For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
(11) Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

The “whole” (BODY, soul, and spirit) of man is to FEAR God and KEEP His commandments.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 KJV
(13) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
(14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

For the evil days shall come upon us: the breaking down of our mortal bodies until we perish from off the earth….if we do not hear and fear Him and keep His commandments.

Ecclesiastes 12:1-8 KJV
(1) Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
(2) While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

The hands tremble with “age”….the legs bow themselves….and the grinders (the teeth) cease because they are few. The whole mortal body is turned to destruction so that we may hear and return to Him so that we may have His life instead of perishing. We are to hear and DO His commandments before the mortal body is destroyed and our spirit goes back to God who gave it. We will certainly go home. But let us hear the good news of the appearing of the life of Jesus in our mortal flesh in the here and now.....giving us "eternal life".... so that we may display His glory in this dark, perishing world.

(3) In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
(4) And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
(5) Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
(6) Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
(7) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
(8) Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

The heavens and the earth which are NOW are STORED with fire….NOW….for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. The flesh of men wither under the sun of God’s wrath until they perish from off the earth because of their unrighteousness and unbelief…..holding down the Truth in their unrighteousness.

2 Peter 3:7-9 KJV
(7) But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

One day is like a thousand years for Him and a thousand years as one day. His PATIENCE is our salvation in the here and now….for He is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should PERISH from off this earth, but that ALL should come to repentance.

(8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
(9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The “one day is like a thousand years” quote in 2 Peter 3:8 comes from Psalms 90:4. Psalms 90 is all about the wrath of God upon men. He turns men to DESTRUCTION and says “return, you children of men”.

Psalms 90:1-14 KJV
(1) A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
(2) Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
(3) Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
(4) For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

All flesh is as grass. Like the grass, we spring up in the morning of our lives. We flourish. But, in the evening time of our lives we wither. We must not forget to do His commandments….the darkness…or the flesh withers toward the grave.

(5) Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
(6) In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

We are consumed by His anger and by His wrath are we troubled. We are under the sun of God’s wrath where the flesh withers from the dry heat that blows upon us for our sins.

(7) For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Our sins are made manifest in our mortal flesh until we die. If we sow after the flesh, then in the mortal flesh do we reap decay….withering as grass under the heat.

(8) Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
(9) For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.
(10) The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
(11) Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
(12) So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
(13) Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
(14) O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

All flesh is grass. The grass withers and the flower fades because the wind (spirit) of the LORD blows upon it.

Isaiah 40:6-11 KJV
(6) The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
(7) The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

But the Word of our God shall stand into the age. IF we make His Word flesh by doing it, then we shall stand unto the age in the here and now.

(8) The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
(9) O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
(10) Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
(11) He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

The brother of low degree who shall hear and believe in the good news of eternal life now shall rejoice that he is being exalted….for he shall continue to stand in this earth….

James 1:9 KJV
(9) Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

…while the rich (rich pastors and their followers) who will hear and not belief because of the deceitfulness of his riches shall be made low…because the sun of God’s wrath takes his mortal body away from this earth as his flesh withers away…fading away unto the grave.

(10) But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
(11) For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

The voice of him that cries in the wilderness:
Every valley shall be exalted….the brother of low degree shall continue to live and it will become apparent to all men that he has the life of Jesus….

...while every mountain and hill shall be made low…for the rich pastor and his followers will not hear and believe that the life of Jesus is to be made manifest in our mortal flesh in the here and now if we hear His voice and fear and keep His commandments. Their flesh shall wither away and they will pass away from this earth so that their spirit may be saved....going back to God who gave it.

Isaiah 40:3-8 KJV
(3) The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
(4) Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
(5) And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
(6) The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
(7) The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
(8) The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
