Tree of good and evil

I understand that it is generally accepted that the tree of life is the Word.
That being accepted it would seem to follow that the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would also be a source, not a literal fruit tree.
Consider we are now living in a conditional mix of good and evil - and who is the prince of the air?
If there is any interest in this line of thought - I'll see how it goes.
