Trials.... Joyfully?

Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.
James 1:2‭-‬4 AMPC

We all go through various trials and temptations… that’s just a given. But James (by the Unction of The Holy Spirit) says we should consider it a joyful occasion when we do. With all the evil in this world how can one do that?

Vs. 3 says that we can understand and be assured that each trial and temptation proves our faith, and brings out endurance, steadfastness, and patience. And in vs. 4 if we allow endurance, steadfastness and patience have full access (meaning we submit to them) and let them do a thorough work… we can be people who are perfectly and fully developed (with no defects) and lacking nothing.

And if we go into read vs. 5 and 6… we find that if we don’t know how to go through a trial… all we have to do is ask our Heavenly Father… and He will give us the wisdom we need to get through it. For 1 Corinthians 10:13 says He will give us the way out, or the way of escape… so that we can be capable, strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.

Where does our strength come from? It comes from having a knowledge and trust of Thee Word. And if one has not had a trust and knowledge of the Word… this is as good as time as any to immerse oneself in the Word and allow yourself to be built up by Him in the foundation of the Word. Allowing Him to be our foundation… our strength and our example of how to walk in the ways of The Word.

The Word says that any house not built up by the Lord, its labor is in vain (ps 127:1)… so how can we understand how this can apply to our lives?

Can you ever think of a time when in your best efforts to overcome a bad habit, you failed? I surely can. And what can we understand was the reason for the failure?

How much time during our time of trying to build a new and good habit… did we consult the Word, meditate on the Word, or stand firmly rested upon the Word, trusting that as we spoke it (no matter what we saw in our lives, or behaved like) and meditated upon It… that It/He would (like Roman’s 12:2) do what He said He would do?

According to Hebrews 4:12… The Word that Father speaks is Alive and Full of Power, meaning it has the power to make itself come to pass especially when spoken through a mouth and heart full of faith. Even if one has faith as small s a mustard seed… the more they meditate and speak that Word it will grow up strong and flourishing like a tree planted by the rivers of water (Matthew 17:20, ps 1:2-3, and Joshua 1:8)

Isaiah 55:11 says So shall My Word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any affect or useless… ampc]. And we know that when we made Jesus Lord of our life, we received Thee Holy Spirit as a deposit within us (2 Cor. 1:22 and Eph. 1:14). Therefore as we yield our mouth and voice to His Word.. we are His mouthpiece to bring forth what is originally spoken by Him, and will receive what ever we say… as the rest of isaiah 55:11 says… but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. This is also backed up by Matthew 12:34b-37.

So you see that a heart who will be bold enough to call those things that be not as though they were… will accomplish the victory that it set out to have.. for The LORD told Joshua that if he would do that… he would make his way prosperous, deal wisely and have good success (Joshua 1:8)

Jesus has already won the victory over sin for us (1 Cor 15:57, Colossians 2:15) and as we enter into the rest (confidence) in that finished work (Hebrews 4:4)… for that rest is by faith… we can know that as we commit any ungodly desire to Him, asking Him to help us to get rid of it… because we don’t desire to have or do anything that blocks Him or His working in our lives… as we take the first step to do right.. He will back us up, and give us the power and desire we need to keep walking according to His Word, and in His ways (philippians 2:13).

Blessings to you all for strength and willingness and victory that is yours already in Christ (The anointing of the annointed) Jesus.

It gets so old hearing so called believers claiming God gives trials to build your faith.
The only thing trials does with ones Faith is try it, prove it.
No!! Trials give Patience and Endurance a workout, that is if you are smart and walk according to God's Ways at all times.

Thank you for the wonderful thread.

It is easy to say to someone going through it that trials it builds your faith.
No it builds patience. But not even necessarily for US, but look at it from GOds point of view. Good things take time yes? The dough has to be given time to rise, its not instant.

Far too many people expect instant results at the snap of their fingers. How many people nowadays have probably NEVER baked a loaf of bread. They probably think you just buy it at the shop.

If we pray anything according to His Will it is yes and we have our answer HOWEVER as you stated it is not always instant.
Sometimes it takes awhile for many reasons. This can be hours to many, many years.

If it involves other people then He has to get them lined up. Dealing with some people takes time.

Some times it simply is a matter of how serious we are. Will we stay in belief even if it does not come quickly and more likely He is trying to get us ready to receive His best.

Note: the bigger the request then the bigger fight we will have.
See....people don't grasp our enemy works hard to keep us from our answered prayer.
We must fight the fight of faith.
This is when far to many give up and make up excuses like, it must not have been God's will or I am not good enough and so forth.

Scripture says if we Believe and don't Doubt in our Heart. This is not a one time thing that only matters as one prays. No!! It matters from the time you pray until you see your answer manifest. It's the time in between that matters most and that's when one will have to fight.

Correct it CAN build patience if one abides in the Ways of God and Joyfully endures which means staying in Faith and Total Trust.

Actually building Patience is For Us. Without it we can not stand. Patience and Endurance is a vital Requirement in order for Faith to work for us and bring forth the desired results.

It is for us too, yes, patience, and we may ask how long, God?! But remember with God a thousand days is as a day to Him...sometimes it helps to see things from Gods point of view.

A thought exercise, imagine that God says you can be God for a day and lets you be in charge with running the universe. You have all these prayers to answer. Which ones do you answer first? How would you deal with a billion requests?

1 Corinthians 3:13 (WEB) each man's work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man's work is.

One who assays ore puts it in a crucible and into a furnace with tongs. The fire melts the rock and the metals sink to the bottom. This trial or test determines whether or not the ore contains silver and gold.

God has ways of measuring our sincerity.

Greetings,
What is the point you wish to make with this via my post?

You are confusing scripture in your point.
1 Corinthians3:12-14

12 But there are various kinds of materials that can be used to build on that foundation. Some use gold and silver and jewels; and some build with sticks and hay or even straw!
13 There is going to come a time of testing at Christ’s Judgment Day to see what kind of material each builder has used. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire so that all can see whether or not it keeps its value, and what was really accomplished.
14 Then every workman who has built on the foundation with the right materials, and whose work still stands, will get his pay. 15 But if the house he has built burns up, he will have a great loss. He himself will be saved, but like a man escaping through a wall of flames.

Pulverized silver ore was tested in fire. So will your works be tested.

1 Peter 1:7 (WEB) that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ--

Yea you said that. However this has nothing to do with trials. The scriptures you used are referring to our final judgment.

God will reward good deeds in this world and the next. Remember in 2 Peter 3 it is written that a new heaven and earth will be revealed after this world and universe are destroyed with intense heat.

Yes Sir I do understand this very well.
However I am trying to find out how you see this fits into staying joyful in your trials?
