In the many social, cultural and religious debates that continue to rage on to this very day, we find our selves at times having to just sit back and listen more carefully in order to pick out the weaknesses on EVERY side of any and all debates. They ALL possess weaknesses.
I especially enjoy the claims so easily laid at the feet of "consensus." That concept has been abused so much in almost every debate that we are left with nothing more than face-in-palm moments whereby we find ourselves with no other outlet for the frustrations we experience when we see such blatant disregard for integrity, often at the cost of one's own credibility! Far too many want to win at ALL costs, not matter what the cost to how others see even them!
[Psalm 7:8 The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity [that is] in me.
Psalm 26:11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
Proverbs 20:7 The just [man] walketh in his integrity: his children [are] blessed after him.
As much as I dislike this man's beliefs about cosmology and science in general, he did make a good point here that should serve as a lesson in the necessity for critical thinking, and doing all diligence to ensure that we are defenders of truth and integrity in all that we say and do:
It's sad that when we exercise this level of consistency in what we say and what others have said, the errors betray the lack of integrity in so many others around us. Dare we walk as do they, and we are not better in the eyes of the Lord.
That should be sobering, and even applies the whip of remembrance to my own back.
How about you? Not to point out only the errors of others, but what have you observed around you in the things said and done that contradict absolute truth?
