What Sayeth the Lord

As far as the Catholic Church condemning me as a heretic, being called such by fellow Christians, especially those I have worshiped with and worked in aide of their ministry much more troubling.

I was trying to remember the proper word as it was explained top me by a Roman Catholic...

The word is "mortal" as a difference between a venial {minor???) sin and mortal sin (their terminology not mine).

As I age, I find more and more things I know become more and more difficult to recall at my command.

Welcome to my world brother!!!!!!

The RCC no longer condemns anyone, does it? I mean, the RCC has become so ecumenical, and so accepting of anything and everything from what I've been seeing lately. Their current pope is reaching out to every Tom, Dick and Harry religion out there, trying to draw them all into a partnership with the RCC as if they all believed the same things...or at least, enough of the same things for there to be some sort of basis for "unity."

Am I not understanding what I'm seeing in relation to this new pope? I mean, if the people of all those other religions don't become members of the RCC, and go through all the rituals and alleged cleansings, then how could there be any unity? The Council of Trent condemns all of those people of other religions. If the pope at the time of that council was infallible, then the line of the alleged "infallibility" has been broken, has it not? Which pope is right? That one back then, or this one?

Sorry, I'm just trying to comprehend so much of what looks like a long history of contradiction when coupled together with what I'm seeing and hearing today. Billy Graham was very close to the RCC and their popes...almost a member, if not in the real sense.

It was a number of years ago when a village in Central America, with the majority of the people being members of the RCC, who also still practiced their ancestral traditions of sacrificing chickens to their dead ancestors, and yet they were still in good standing with the vatican so long as they continued to attend the RCC masses and rituals, and hand over their tithes, etc. So, ecumenicalism really isn't all that new to the RCC, it's just more "out there", with media, cameras and microphones capturing the obvious shifts increasingly in the direction of ecumenical entanglements.

I could never have any respect for God or the Bible if they changed from century to century, decade to decade, but the God of the Bible doesn't change with the times and tides of human instabilities. They remain constant and consistent. For that I am so thankful.

Man is fickle and unstable in all his ways as a culture. The wickedness of the human heart is well established, and is being put on exhibit for all to see it for what it is in more and more glaring detail. Without the stability of the One true God and His written word, we would have nothing solid under the feet of our spirits and souls.

Thank you, Lord in Heaven, for who You are.

I heard a complaint this morning from a preacher about how more and more church organizations and denominations are caving to societal demands for political correctness, which means more tolerance toward sin entering into their membership, into their doctrines, and into the inner leadership structures by way of perverse lifestyles and/or beliefs about perversity of all sorts.

Folks, that's inevitable. Why? How? Quite simple, really. Why is it that not one of those evil, secular "christians" can never enter into membership in the (C)hurch, but they populate almost half of the (c)hurch? You probably already suspect what I'm going to say. Yes.

All manner of evil, wicked, half-baked, lukewarm, milk-toast-n-wet-noodle purveyor of worldliness and downright evil is allowed to enter in, warm the pew or chair, and register to become a member, wait until they can become a part of the deacon, elder, and even board member, and they are in the leadership structure. Wah-lah.

In the body of Christ, only those whom the Lord knows and who know Him and HIs voice, are redeemed and born again, can enter in and be members. Therefore the (C)hurch remains pure and unspotted by the pretenders who are influencing the institutional model into spiritual and doctrinal ruin.

Folks, the day is coming when YOU, the "church-goer" will have to make a choice. Are you prepared to launch out into the wilderness of life in Christ Jesus...walking with Him out there in those waste lands of the world, and function as a mature believer? Or, will you remain a part of the apostate, institutional model that is slowly eroding away in spirit and in truth under the pressures from population of unsaved, unregenerate, non-born again, sex drenched renegades who pretend faith, assist in demanding a smorgasbord meals of warm fuzzies from their pulpits, and invite into their membership and leadership numbers all manner of fellow, moral defects and deviant freaks and whackos just like themselves...none of them understanding what the real intent and purpose ever was for the gathering of believers.

By the time an organization has enough membership to pressure the leadership into differing directions away from the Bible, it's too late. The frog is too well boiled; with enough heat that he can't move to jump out of the water.

Get ready, folks, to walk that wilderness. Start walking it now. Think deeply about how well you can function without the crutches of the institutional model. Consider what it will be like to meet in places where you don't have to worry about the lukewarm believers who would do the same to the new group that they've done to the institutional model. Some organizations have thought that they can shield themselves from the modern phenomenon, only to find wife-swappers right there in the midst of the leadership, and sometimes even the senior pastor himself. That happened right here in this town. They grilled potential members before allowing them voting membership, only some years down the road find out, through public media, that their senior pastor was part of a wife-swapping ring named among some of the other pastors and membership from other church organizations.

So, look out into that wilderness where groupings of true, born again believers, will have to adapt to measures to protect themselves from intrusive people who harbor ungodly beliefs. They will have to give up their doctrinal distinctives if they want to attract enough born again people to support their communal property and staffing if they want to retain that model and massive expenditures. Otherwise, they will have to go into homes, or rent available, larger spaces for larger meeting venues surrounding a central and popular pastor figure.

The world is changing, and as it becomes more hostile, the gathering of believers will have to become more controlled as to who is allowed to enter in, which is the only way to try and protect against Satan's agents from getting in and influencing the character of the gathering into just another worldly expression of mere religion.

Dr. Graham may have been the President of the "Council of Ecumenicalism".

So very right MM.

The failure of the church today IMHO is the preachers in the last 75 to 100 years that have been pandering to the desires of his congregation and telling them what THAY WANT TO HEAR so as to not hurt their feelings and harm the offering........ instead of what telling them what GOD HAS SAID about what they need to hear!

When Preachers stop exposing SIN, and stop challenging their congreation to LIVE WHAT THEY BELIEVE they will act like water on a mountain......
"seeking the lowest point of resistance".

In other words......I can look at Playboy, watch porno on TV, beat the wife and kick the dog, on Saturday, BUT as long as I go to church on Sunday....I will be OK.

The result is a church full of "christianittes" who want "sermonettes" and whose Bible knowledge is nonexistent.

1 Timothy 4:1-4 ......
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron".
