When we get stuck...

Sometimes we get stuck. When our truck gets stuck, what do we do? We will usually back up, and then go forward... maybe then we get free. Or maybe we have to repeat the process and back up even farther.

Life and church is the same. We often get stuck. We feel we are not moving forward, or feel as if our prayers are not being heard, or we just have no motivation or momentum anymore. What does the Bible teach us about this?

Well, if we want to be set free from the rut in our lives, or even in our church... sometimes we need to go back. Go back to the beginning. Back to the Word.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."
We need to go back... and ask God, as David did, to "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Because, ....."the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness."
"For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest;"
"Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart."
"No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light."
"...they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience."
"...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance."
------
We should not wait until we become stuck to look to God's Word... that's where we should always begin.
