Why Is There So Much Promiscuity In Pentecostalism?

I attended a Pentecostal men's retreat back in 1995. A group of Pastors stood around me and put their hands on my stomach so they could teach me to speak in tongues. Seriously?
It didn't work but the part that made me feel weird was having men touch my stomach.
I have known, and still know a few Pentecostals but they do not talk much to me any more, after I ask them several questions.
Example.....YOU say that God has given the gift of physical healing to men. Oral Roberts, Benny Hinn, Reinhard Bonke, Joel Hitchcock just to name a few.
Now, when I ask my friends about this, I ask them --if this is the case, and there is physical healing in the atonement, why aren't all of these men going from hospital room to hospital healing all those in the hospital???? I mean, they claim to possess the ability to cure ailments through the power of faith and prayer, why not have an office at the local hospital???
Their answer........They do not talk to me any more.
Another example......Oral Roberts was one of the original TV faith healers, BUT he wore glasses.....WHY?
You see, this kind of nonsense makes folly out of the gift of God which is salvation.
There is NO physical healing in the atonement.

You posts include good points. My comment to that is wisdom and discernment is important to all believers and God can empower us. Then we can ask the same questions and call out these celebratory faith healers. I also asked the same about Mr. Roberts TV performance (and his glasses.)
Years ago my wife and I attended a gathering that hosted a "certified" faith healer graduate" (what?!?) After dinner everyone lined up as the healer would prophesy to each one and bring healing.
When it was our turn (I don't even remember what she predicted and healed) but I politely called out this person later and her reaction was, "I'll get back to you and then she walked away." We rest our case and said goodnight to everyone.
In the meantime our hospitals and nursing homes don't get enough visitors to pray over the physically ill and disabled.
The speaking in tongues experience was untruthful. Why these ministers misled me as a young Christian sent the wrong message, and years later I still remember that day.

Isn't it amazing that when we actually read what is in the Bible, how it changes our understanding of what people have told us.
Now both of us have a similar story and what happened to us is that as we began to grow, we read the Bible and then we changed for the better as the Word of God sanctified us.
Now my problem is that as I look around at friends and family who have aged is this......why did they not change as I did.
Answer is really simple...........they did not read the Bible and learn the truth. To this day, they go to church, accept the lies and false teachings of men.

I have asked them, since Oral Roberts was a "faith healer", why did he divert millions of dollars to build a health hospital. Why would he do that since all he had to do was have a parking lot built so cars with the sick could park....wait in line, be healed and then go home.
Their answer is always....."God told him to do it"!
My answer was.....then why in the world did it fail and sitting there empty?
